Title: IL: IL 57 endpoint technicality
Post by: Highway63 on November 12, 2019, 01:04:09 am
The idea for IL 57 is to end at I-172 (a truncation from the old road that gently curves from downtown Quincy to IL 96 near I-72)...

...but the signed "End" - and signed "Begin" - are a fraction of a mile south at the intersection with CR 79/1100th Street.

I suspect the reason is the bridge jurisdiction between the two locations. Is this significant enough that I should extend the route there? (This would mean someone who exited from I-172 and drove north would not clinch the route.)

I would say yes.

Look @ FL-563 (http://travelmapping.net/hb/?units=miles&u=null&r=fl.fl563) as a similar example.  FDOT GIS has it ending south of the FL-570 interchange, plus there's a 'SB FL-563' shield (https://goo.gl/maps/rgSfQSUUkbpJSRi66) south of the interchange too.

I have extended IL 57 and sent that in.
