Yesterday, I came upon this:

This is over in Logan County, east of Bellefountaine. The photo is at the intersection of Oh 540 & (old) Oh 533. (FWIW, (old) Oh 533 is signed at its north end with Oh 47 as well)
I've never seen ODOT & a county do this before.

Does (Old) Oh 533 get treated like a signed Ohio route, or ignored like some of the truck routes in Delaware and Marion?

Interesting. We don’t have a bannered route category for “Old”. Out of a desire to not open any cans of worms, I’d prefer to ignore this and any others like it.

So, I got you for Co-chairing, with me, the campaign to get Delaware Co & ODOT to (re-)designate Co Rd 605 as "Old" Oh 605 (between Oh 37 & US 36/Oh 3). ;D

That one has been missing from the state system for a lot longer, and I doubt many remember it as a state route.

That one has been missing from the state system for a lot longer, and I doubt many remember it as a state route.
605 got shortened so that 750 could be extended from 315 to I-71 as part of the Polaris development. This occurred roughly 25 years ago.
