NE44 on the site doesn't quite have waypoints that go north far enough to where I've seen it signed
If there is another reason for it starting where it currently is (at I-80) I'll learn what the rule is and consider that if I see any other roads that begin in a different spot

I truncated this at the same time I made the other changes related to the NE10 Kearney east bypass. Mostly based on comments on AARoads: https://www.aaroads.com/forum/index.php?topic=10268
NE 44 does not go any farther north than I-80.
My understanding from years ago was that the north-south route between I-80 and the bypass for Kearney was to be turned over due to the state mileage cap.
I still don't have any corroboration from official sources.
Have you seen actual NE44 signs out there in the wild fairly recently?

It might take a little while but I will go through pictures I took of Kearney and keep an eye out for a possible sign in the background

Thanks for checking on that. I've jumped the gun on making edits before. It would be good to know where NE44 actually ends.

https://dot.nebraska.gov/media/3012/kearney-all.pdf shows state highway ending at the I-80 interchange, city streets N of that.
GMSV shows NE44 signage removed downtown, and at least one North 44 sign replaced with South 44 at the I-80 ramp termini.
Marking this solved.
