FL: FL 100 Business in Starke?
« on: May 20, 2020, 09:06:48 am »
I'm on the Starke Bypass (as I started typing this, in fact) and it looks like the signs at the bottom of the ramp to FL 100 mark WB as FL 100, but EB into Starke as Business FL 100.  I didn't see any signs for FL 100 on the bypass, so I don't know where FL 100 mainline is if that segment is now Business FL 100.

I think that's an error, as GIS shows no changes to FL-100's routing in that area.

There is definitely no Business Route for SR 100 (drove part of SR 100 just in case last September). That is just a lame attempt to direct motorists to the Starke Business District. You would think that the multiple instances of "Starke Downtown Historic District" guide signs would be enough. There is also one posted on SR 16 southbound ahead of the interchange with U.S. 301 ALT.

This is not the only time FDOT has misused a Business banner as well, as SR 276 east at U.S. 90 in Marianna has the same set up. 2009 photo, since been carbon copied:
