Title: NM: US 66-adjacent things
Post by: Highway63 on August 30, 2019, 02:08:27 am
NM US 54: Missing I-40BL point NM91 in Santa Rosa.

NM US 54/84: There are multiple signs, including this BGS on I-40, that show 54 and 84 using the BL/66 between exits 277 and 275. I know signage in NM is not great but this seems to be enough to merit a shift.

NM US 66 (Santa Fe): My 66 guides use NM 50 and NM 63 through Pecos. I think it's enough of a deviation from the interstate to get included.

NM NM 501: Add shaping points for what effectively is a switchback at Jemez Road?

The Pecos routing of 66 is awaiting approval to pull.

It's pretty terribly signed - only at the I-40 junctions (see my post from yesterday).

Based on this, I would argue that US 84 should follow I-40BL (https://www.google.com/maps/@34.9378146,-104.6933453,3a,75y,341.15h,90t/data=!3m7!1e1!3m5!1sXbWOB1caO6_Eqwwf6HwSug!2e0!6shttps:%2F%2Fstreetviewpixels-pa.googleapis.com%2Fv1%2Fthumbnail%3Fpanoid%3DXbWOB1caO6_Eqwwf6HwSug%26cb_client%3Dmaps_sv.tactile.gps%26w%3D203%26h%3D100%26yaw%3D344.36072%26pitch%3D0%26thumbfov%3D100!7i16384!8i8192) through Santa Rosa to I-40 Exit 273.  You could go either way with US 54 (https://www.google.com/maps/@34.944426,-104.6766549,3a,75y,97.45h,94.98t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sJMMxK0dWEgVDvDx9AhRVaA!2e0!7i16384!8i8192) it seems.

This was done.

I agree.  I also think that DiaDr should be JemRd_E (https://www.google.com/maps/@35.8783641,-106.318615,3a,75y,29.74h,89.65t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1s6kGB6_d_I36Ef-CnYW-U9Q!2e0!7i16384!8i8192).

The New Mexico DOT Route Log (https://dot.state.nm.us/content/dam/nmdot/Data_Management/NM_AADT_Listing.pdf) does not support an extension of NM 501 even though Google Maps and OSM indicate otherwise

The Santa Rosa situation is a mess, and has been addressed before. I think the HB is correct as is, based in part on a field check last summer. But I'll look into the missing waypoint on US 54. I'm in southern New Mexico right now, but a bit pressed for time at the moment, I'll get to it later.

On NM 501, I extended it based on NMDOT's online mapping, after a field check. I'll check later on the point label and shaping.

I missed the original post. At the time, I was on the road in a remote place with no Internet access.

I was specifically talking about anything north of what is in the HB now.  The northern end in the HB seems to be correct.

This one has still not been done.

Change in my queue, to be pulled in probably tonight.

In my queue, to be pulled in along with the US 54 change.

These changes, as well as two mapcat flagged in a PM, in https://github.com/TravelMapping/HighwayData/pull/4851

Update: All changes pulled in. However, new NM300 point on US66HisSFe was inserted out-of-order. Will be fixed in the set of Nevada updates to be pulled in soon.
