TN I-840 (former TN840)
« on: September 10, 2016, 10:01:39 am »
It appears that TN 840 has been officially designated I-840 https://www.tn.gov/tdot/news/44772. Signage is being replaced through late 2016.

I'm not sure how the process works to add TN I-840 and remove TN 840 from the HB other than post something here.

We typically wait until there's signage or at least an adequate level of signage after an approval.

Makes sense. I'll be in the area in early November. I'll see what's in place then. Hopefully someone else can report sooner.

It should be extreamly easy to convert the TN-840 file to I-840 when at least 50% of the signage has been changed IMO.

I don't know how much, but I can confirm that at least some signage is in place for I-840 in TN. I was driving US41 between Nashville and Chattanooga and the entrance ramps both east and west on the new Interstate are fully signed. My guess would be that if the entrance ramps are signed, the highway is as well.

Just thought I would pass along what I saw in the field.

Is "50% signed" really necessary? If it's signed at all, we ought to make the change. It's not like someone at TDOT's going to say "Oh wait, never mind."

Additional signage at exit 235 on I-40. The attached image is heading west on I-40 where I-840 intersects.

This route should be added as an official Interstate. TN840 already exists as part of the usansf system. Converting to usai, shouldn't be too tricky. The hard part might be adjusting all the waypoint names on any route that intersects.

Now I just need to make time to go back and clinch the route (only driven 28 to 76)   :)

I hear that. I found a small handful of AR549 labels that never got changed to I-49 yesterday. Even an AR245.
