MI: US 223 Northern Terminus
« on: October 02, 2023, 01:34:07 pm »
Is there a reason that the HB currently shows US 223 as concurrent with US 127 to US 12 instead of just ending at US 127?

The US 127/US 223 intersection is currently being converted to a roundabout so we may want to hold off on changes until this project is complete.  (https://www.aaroads.com/forum/index.php?topic=7953.msg2872323#msg2872323)

No reason I can find. MDOT says it ends at 127, although to be fair, MDOT also says it ends at 23 the other direction.

It will be truncated at the north end the next time I update.

The 1989 AASHTO route log as well as the 1977 application to reroute US 223 at the Ohio border area explicitly say it begins at US 12. Also the 1981 application to extend US 12.

Applications in 1961 and 1965 explicitly have it beginning at US 127.
