Title: NY: NY 85 Southern Endpoint
Post by: Markkos1992 on July 17, 2018, 07:41:40 pm
It seems that the MedRd point at the southern terminus should instead be CR 353(Delaware Turnpike) or CR 351.

I'll go with CR351 (https://www.google.com/maps/@42.516122,-74.1371617,3a,39.6y,266.12h,96.89t/data=!3m9!1e1!3m7!1s7r1-eN3ULSNd3i9WVZoF9g!2e0!7i3328!8i1664!9m2!1b1!2i41).

NY85 itself seems to go on a wee bit longer:
END sign (https://www.google.com/maps/@42.5154093,-74.1396049,3a,67.2y,241.66h,79.49t/data=!3m9!1e1!3m7!1sqDsuYosmZ6eqAu2R080Flw!2e0!7i3328!8i1664!9m2!1b1!2i41)
TDV and shapefiles agree, with shapefile coords from putting an endpoint here (http://www.openstreetmap.org/?lat=42.515402&lon=-74.139624).
END CR353 (https://www.google.com/maps/@42.5151006,-74.1395686,3a,75y,25.28h,83.29t/data=!3m9!1e1!3m7!1s58fESK2jsMrRC5UAOxc0Cg!2e0!7i3328!8i1664!9m2!1b1!2i41) is posted at the other side of the bridge. (What, is the bridge itself a short gap between the two routes?) I'm willing to call that an imprecision in field signage, and call the end CR353, as does the Traffic Data Report (https://www.dot.ny.gov/divisions/engineering/technical-services/hds-respository/Traffic%20Data%20Report%202011.pdf).
This (https://www.google.com/maps/@42.5163846,-74.1378902,3a,17.1y,181.64h,92.2t/data=!3m9!1e1!3m7!1skrpNOBbb8ZrFg5540735CA!2e0!7i3328!8i1664!9m2!1b1!2i41) is annoying, though. >:(
