SD: SD 100

This is a new beltway outside of Sioux Falls (currently the trunk road east of SF on OSM); they're building it in sections and no signs are up as of 2 hours ago.

More to come when more is known.

Is this the North Veterans Parkway going north from the west SD 11/42 junction? Looks like it but I want to be sure. City of Brandon website says extension to I-90 will be in 2018-19 - looks like a lot of utilities and RR tracks are involved.

Yeah, when I drove it it was signed very similarly to the South Veterans Parkway segment of SD 11 (without shields of course).

They'll probably start work this spring on the new segment once the thaw hits, then that'll be done at the end of 2019. However, the Lincoln County segment (SD 11 west to I-29 at Exit 73) is way out into the future and I don't know when anything will be done there; they'll likely sign it once everything is 100% done.

Interestingly, this project is probably why SD 17 died; SDDOT gave that road over to Minnehaha and Lincoln in exchange for building the nice new bypass.

There's a project site up at SDDOT now: http://www.sddot.com/travelers/projects/Hwy100Exit402/default.aspx
Every link I try to go after on SDDOT's website redirects me to their mainpage.

They redid their website so all old links are now broken.

Veterans Parkway is now substantially complete, and I drove it last week. Some notes:

Exit 402 is only signed as CR 121 North, with no mention of SD 100. There is no signage whatsoever along the actual Veterans Parkway (no CR 121 or SD 100), it just seemed like a 4-lane city street. If this is going to be signed as SD 100, it will probably wait until they finish the south half in Lincoln County; not sure when/if that's on the docket. There's still about a half-mile or so of two-lane road just north of SD 42, so that needs to be upgraded as well for this whole thing to be finished.

Do you think I should create a route, then, or just wait until it's completed and there's either a press release or a news story?

The extension to I-90 opened in December:

https://www.siouxfalls.business/veterans-parkway-opens-at-i-90-exit/

But I have no way of knowing if the route is signed as SD 100. (E-mail SDDOT?) The southwest extension won't be done for years, so I am creating a SD 100 file that starts at 57th Street with SD 11. The question is if it should be added as a state route yet.

Last time I was there, there was no signage, even on I-90. There is a website for the extension to I-29, which won't be finished for another 5 years: https://southveteransparkway.com/ This is listed on the DOT's website as "South Veterans Parkway (Highway 100)". I asked via the contact form if this is going to be signed as SD 100 so we'll see if they get back to me.

So they got back to me, and the email was as follows:

Quote from: South Veterans Parkway Project <connect@southveteransparkway.com>
The corridor will be signed “Veterans Parkway”.

Let us know if you have any further questions.

Sincerely,
South Veterans Parkway Project Team

I also asked someone from DOT if this will be signed as SD 100 but given the initial signage and how this email went I don't think it's likely.

So for now at least, that seems to be a "no", and re-evaluate when the rest of the corridor is built down to I-29.
