After some driving in the Chicago area the last 10 days, I can confirm that many new signs are up and they all have exit numbers. There is a complete map online:

At some point in the near future I will be converting all the Illinois tollway exit names to numbers. The old names will be kept as hidden points.
I-90 is now three lanes each way from near O'Hare to Rockford (the part near O'Hare is under construction right now) and I have to admit, it was nice. All the toll plazas are cash on the side, I-Pass straight through. (Full price for cash was less nice.)
