KOR: AH1 and AH6
« on: August 19, 2023, 02:13:07 am »
There are signs implying that AH1 begins and ends where Ex1 does in Busan. (Similar signs at the north end don't mention AH1.) I tried and couldn't find anything farther south. The log from 2017 includes lengths (you have to unhide column Q), and shows 68 km from Busan to Gyeongju, which matches the length of Ex1 south of the Gyeongju interchange.

Do we have any sources other than uncited Wikipedia for the route through Busan?

Once Ex1 ends in Seoul, I can't figure anything out, but it does say there are no tunnels, so it doesn't use the path we have.

As for AH6, the log shows it beginning at AH1 in Gyeongju and following NH 7 all the way except for the portion of Ex65 between Tonghae and Gangneung. 7 doesn't actually touch AH1 in Gyeongju, but exit 9 is signed for 7 (or was back in 2010). Other older signs point 7 straight on 35 and continuing on where 35 turns, where one would meet 7 and turn north through downtown Gyeongju.

Tonghae to Gangneung on Ex65 is listed as 41 miles, which matches exits 31 to 35. I don't know what if anything is signed.
