http://travelmapping.net/hb/index.php?units=km&u=neroute2&r=mexchih.mex045dchi should be renamed MEX45DSac (Sacramento) since there's now a full 45D bypass of Chihuahua. (Yes, this one is still signed as 45D south of the new one.)

http://travelmapping.net/hb/index.php?units=km&u=neroute2&r=mexchis.mex187d http://travelmapping.net/hb/index.php?units=km&u=neroute2&r=mexver.mex187d is most consistently signed as 145D (changed from 180D). Some signs at minor interchanges still say 180D or 187D, but for the most part it's now 145D.

http://travelmapping.net/hb/index.php?units=km&u=neroute2&r=mexchis.mex193d http://travelmapping.net/hb/index.php?units=km&u=neroute2&r=mexchis.mex193darr is mostly signed as 190D, including on km posts (note that this is on the section between the two files, implying that it's actually one long 190D that overlaps 190). There are some 200D signs on the south part, but only southbound (towards 200).

http://travelmapping.net/hb/index.php?units=km&u=neroute2&r=mexcoah.mex040dmat should be Matamor*o*s.

http://travelmapping.net/hb/index.php?units=km&u=neroute2&r=mexcoah.mex057dpue are the borders really like this?

http://travelmapping.net/hb/index.php?units=km&u=neroute2&r=mexemex.mex015dtol is actually MEX (state) A-6D (they used the wrong shield shape here). Signs for 15D appear to be westbound only, since it leads to the other 15D.

http://travelmapping.net/hb/index.php?units=km&u=neroute2&r=mexemex.mex055dten is mostly signed as MEX (state) A-2D, and is under state control. But some signs say 4D: https://www.google.com/maps/@18.9995837,-99.6504278,3a,20.3y,198.33h,87.59t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sv4U18jlMFDY3FEEdktVGpg!2e0!7i13312!8i6656 https://www.google.com/maps/@18.8527286,-99.6712966,3a,45.8y,99.81h,85.76t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1s6IPdYys8wifIg9VCljnIbg!2e0!7i13312!8i6656 or EMEX 4

http://travelmapping.net/user/mapview.php?units=km&u=neroute2&rte=MEXM40D is not signed as M40D anywhere except on km posts, as far as I can tell. All other signs I can find are for the highways it leads to (e.g. 150D eastbound, 15D westbound). But note that it's signed as M-40D, not M40D.

http://travelmapping.net/hb/index.php?units=km&u=neroute2&r=mexgto.mex110d is state maintained GTO 110D.

http://travelmapping.net/hb/index.php?units=km&u=neroute2&r=mexoax.mex200d is signed as 185D, including on km posts. The northeast end appears to be at 185, not 200.

http://travelmapping.net/hb/index.php?units=km&u=neroute2&r=mextam.mex070d I'm not sure if this is signed as 70D, or 180D, or what.

http://travelmapping.net/hb/index.php?units=km&u=neroute2&r=mexver.mex180djos is similarly strange, and may not have any 180D signs.

http://travelmapping.net/hb/index.php?units=km&u=neroute2&r=mexzac.mex049dfre and http://travelmapping.net/hb/index.php?units=km&u=neroute2&r=mexzac.mex049dvic may be signed as only 45D with no overlap.

http://travelmapping.net/hb/index.php?units=km&u=neroute2&r=mexemex.emex005d requires more study.

http://travelmapping.net/hb/index.php?units=km&u=neroute2&r=mexemex.emexa007 is A-7D, not simply A7.

http://travelmapping.net/hb/index.php?units=km&u=neroute2&r=mexnl.nl040d is signed as federal 40D (east of ValGua, at least). It should be combined with the part of http://travelmapping.net/hb/?units=km&u=neroute2&r=mexnl.mex040d that doesn't bypass Monterrey.

http://travelmapping.net/hb/index.php?units=km&u=neroute2&r=mexpue.pue190d seems to all be signed as federal 150D or 190D, except at the PUE 438D interchange where signs say PUE 438D. It's a mess.

http://travelmapping.net/hb/index.php?units=km&u=neroute2&r=mexsin.sinae001 has a dash: AE-1.

Re: Mexico: planned changes to mexd/mexed
« Reply #1 on: September 12, 2019, 10:42:52 am »
This does not include a general checking of waypoints to add missing interchanges etc.

One big question: if there's a bypass of a city, should the main segment follow that, with stubs into the city, or should the bypass be a separate segment? Should it depend on how the interchanges are designed? Example: Tepic, where 15D is both on the freeways towards downtown and on the northeast bypass.

http://travelmapping.net/user/mapview.php?units=km&u=neroute2&rte=MEX1D truncate north end to Tijuana beaches exit; add branch to Cabo San Lucas (already in pull requests)
http://travelmapping.net/user/mapview.php?units=km&u=neroute2&rte=MEX2D truncate west end to BC201 (already in pull requests); toll segment between Altar and Santa Ana is signed as 2D, but I can't determine exactly where the west end is
http://travelmapping.net/user/mapview.php?units=km&u=neroute2&rte=MEX14D no changes (even though west end of maintenance is at the Zirimicuaro exit, it's signed west to 37)
http://travelmapping.net/user/mapview.php?units=km&u=neroute2&rte=MEX15D add piece just east of Toluca; change Toluca bypass piece to EMEX A-6D; truncate Guadalajara end to the MEX 80 interchange, where maintenance and signage ends; add Tepic bypass as a separate segment (or reroute with stubs left behind?); take over a bit of M-40D based on signage and the latter's km 0; add Mazatlan bypass, with short stub to former terminus north of town; add Culiacan bypass to end at SIN AE-1 (the route towards Culiacan is also signed as 15D but maintained as part of 15, so it could go in mexd or the new federal highway system); add Ciudad Obregon bypass (either as a new segment or as the main route with stubs left behind; in any case I need to figure out how maintenance works through Ciudad Obregon); truncate south end of existing segment to 14 interchange - though this sign is gone in 2019); there might be a bit of toll maintenance on the stub into Magdalena de Kino from the south, but it's not signed; I'm not sure if the Nogales bypass is actually signed as 15D, but it's inventoried as such
http://travelmapping.net/user/mapview.php?units=km&u=neroute2&rte=MEX16D I need to check both ends
19D: new bypass of Cabo San Lucas (already in pull requests)
http://travelmapping.net/user/mapview.php?units=km&u=neroute2&rte=MEX37D add Morelia bypass
http://travelmapping.net/user/mapview.php?units=km&u=neroute2&rte=MEX40D complete Torreon bypass, either leaving a stub at Matamoros or ending it at the existing 40D; add Saltillo bypass into Monterrey from the west (or only the part east of Ojo Caliente??); add stub into Monterrey from the east
http://travelmapping.net/user/mapview.php?units=km&u=neroute2&rte=MEX43D extend north around Irapuato to 45D south of Leon
http://travelmapping.net/user/mapview.php?units=km&u=neroute2&rte=MEX45D extend segment south past San Pedro Piedra Gorda to state line; add Chihuahua bypass (as separate segment or with stub?); check Ahumada endpoint
47D: new Queretaro bypass
http://travelmapping.net/user/mapview.php?units=km&u=neroute2&rte=MEX48D toll maintenance ends before the end of the freeway, but it's signed (as 15D) all the way to 126, so no changes
http://travelmapping.net/user/mapview.php?units=km&u=neroute2&rte=MEX49D delete Victor Rosales and Fresnilo segments (only signed as 45D); fix curves just south of Jimenez
http://travelmapping.net/user/mapview.php?units=km&u=neroute2&rte=MEX55D change south segment to EMEX A-2D; extend south to end of maintenance; not sure where the north end is, but it may be at 55 southwest of Tecoac - see this sign, though 55D needs to continue north to free 55 since it's only signed as 55D
http://travelmapping.net/user/mapview.php?units=km&u=neroute2&rte=MEX57D not sure if the Mexico City bypass and the part north of Mexico City should be combined, given that maintenance on the latter ends along the way, and northbound traffic on 57D is directed to cut off on EMEX 5D; add stub or continue mainline into Queretaro to eastern free bypass; add branch towards Huachichil
http://travelmapping.net/user/mapview.php?units=km&u=neroute2&rte=MEX70D add segment from south of Compostela to Ixtlan del Rio; extend east around Ciudad Valles and Tamuin
http://travelmapping.net/user/mapview.php?units=km&u=neroute2&rte=MEX80D truncate in Guadalajara (see 15D); add Lagos de Moreno-Villa de Arriaga
http://travelmapping.net/user/mapview.php?units=km&u=neroute2&rte=MEX90D truncate in Guadalajara (see 15D); extend east around Zapotlanejo to 80/90 split; add bypass of La Piedad de Cabadas
93D: new Chilpancingo bypass
94D: new route from 95D near Jojutla to 160 at PUE 438D
http://travelmapping.net/user/mapview.php?units=km&u=neroute2&rte=MEX95D add tunnel in Acapulco; possibly make continuous in Cuernavaca (new express lanes are signed as 95D); extend north to beginning of Avenida Insurgentes Sur
http://travelmapping.net/user/mapview.php?units=km&u=neroute2&rte=MEX110D is actually GTO 110D
http://travelmapping.net/user/mapview.php?units=km&u=neroute2&rte=MEX115D second segment south of Amecameca; north end is at north end of Amecameca bypass
http://travelmapping.net/user/mapview.php?units=km&u=neroute2&rte=MEX117D west end of maintenance is just a bit to the east, but the logical end is where we have it
http://travelmapping.net/user/mapview.php?units=km&u=neroute2&rte=MEX132D add branch to Villa Avila Camacho? east end is on the Tuxpan side of the bridge
http://travelmapping.net/user/mapview.php?units=km&u=neroute2&rte=MEX140D extend slightly east to 140 at Banderilla
http://travelmapping.net/user/mapview.php?units=km&u=neroute2&rte=MEX150D extend west to Eje 8 Sur; not toll maintained around Puebla, but still signed as 150D, so no changes there
http://travelmapping.net/user/mapview.php?units=km&u=neroute2&rte=MEX180D remove Jose Cardel bypass (it's no longer toll); extend east in Veracruz to end of maintenance; add Minatitlan-Coatzacoalcos bypass; add Villahermosa bypass
http://travelmapping.net/user/mapview.php?units=km&u=neroute2&rte=MEX187D is 145D
http://travelmapping.net/user/mapview.php?units=km&u=neroute2&rte=MEX190D add Tlacolula-Juchitan (built at both ends, but not yet in middle)
http://travelmapping.net/user/mapview.php?units=km&u=neroute2&rte=MEX193D is 190D; two segments are signed as one
http://travelmapping.net/user/mapview.php?units=km&u=neroute2&rte=MEX200D add Compostela-south (need to verify that this is 200D); add Tecpan de Galeana bypass; eastern segment around Salina Cruz and Juchitan is 185D
305D: southeast of Popolnah to Playa del Carmen (endpoint at the toll booth?)
307D: Felipe Carrillo Puerto bypass
GUA 10D: Guadalajara bypass
HER 10D: Hermosillo bypass
I-20D: Irapuato bypass
S-30D: Saltillo bypass (marked on km posts, including on the 40D piece)

unknown federal:
Encarnacion de Diaz-San Juan de los Lagos (signed for 45D and 80D, which it connects; km posts are 307D which actually makes sense since it parallels JAL 307!)
Huejotzingo-Texmelucan
Piramides-Texcoco
Puebla-Tlaxcala
Reynosa southern bypass (signed as 10D (westbound); spur to Pharr bridge is 87D!?)
Tepic-San Blas (blank km posts)
short stub at south end of Tepic bypass
Valle de Guadalupe bypass

CHIH 80D: Ojinaga bypass
http://travelmapping.net/user/mapview.php?units=km&u=neroute2&rte=EMEX5D extend south and add branches (already in pull requests)
http://travelmapping.net/user/mapview.php?units=km&u=neroute2&rte=EMEXA7 extend west (it's been completed to the state line at 15D) and add branch (ends just outside Valle de Bravo where the old road splits)
EMEX A-10D: Toluca southeast bypass
GTO D: Celaya bypass
JA 10D: Xalapa bypass
http://travelmapping.net/user/mapview.php?units=km&u=neroute2&rte=NL40D change to federal and maybe truncate west end
http://travelmapping.net/user/mapview.php?units=km&u=neroute2&rte=PUE190D change to federal? this one is a huge mess
SLP 20D: San Luis Potosi bypass
SLP 80CE: Cerritos-Tula (signed on km posts)

unknown state:
Ojuelos de Jalisco bypass
San Luis Rio Colorado-Estacion Doctor

I'm not sure that the Monterrey bypass is 40D. GIS shows it as state 100, and while I haven't found any signs for that, I have found some for Monterrey 1610. Signs for 40D are limited and can probably be interpreted as TO, since both ends are at pieces of 40D. I will look into this some more and catalog signage at interchanges.

From west to east:
*MEX40D
**40 (no D)
*MEX40
**eastbound: (to) 40 Reynosa/54 Miguel Aleman/85 Nuevo Laredo; 40D Nuevo Laredo (on 40 westbound, but eastbound it's 85D)
**westbound: (to) 40D Monterrey/Saltillo Cuota
M1610 shield
*M1
**eastbound: (to) 40 Reynosa/85 Nuevo Laredo/Colombia/Monterrey
**westbound: M1610 (to) 40 Saltillo/57 Mexico
*M28
**eastbound: (to) 40 Reynosa/54 Miguel Aleman/85 Nuevo Laredo
**westbound: (to) 40 Mexico/Saltillo
*M36
**eastbound: (to) 40 Reynosa/85 Nuevo Laredo/NL1 Colombia/53/Miguel Aleman
**westbound: M1610 (to) 40 Saltillo/57 Mexico
*M42
**eastbound: (to) 40 Reynosa/85 Nuevo Laredo
**westbound: (to) 40 Saltillo
*MEX53
**eastbound: (to) 40 Reynosa/85 Nuevo Laredo; 40D Nuevo Laredo (on 53)
**westbound: (to) 40 Saltillo/Mexico
*MEX85
**eastbound: (to) 40 Reynosa/54 Miguel Aleman/Ciudad Mier; 40D Reynosa (85)
**westbound: (to) 40 Saltillo; 40D Saltillo/Mexico (on 85)
*MEX54
**eastbound: (to) 40 Reynosa
**westbound: (to) 40 Saltillo/85 Nuevo Laredo/57 Mexico; some signs here say 40D/85D
*MEX40D
**eastbound: Juarez/Cadereyta/Reynosa (one 40D sign on 40D)
**westbound: (to) 40 Saltillo/54 Miguel Aleman/85 Nuevo Laredo

So there's very little 40D signage, and none on the road except at 54. So it probably makes the most sense to inventory it as M1610, temporarily in mexsf.

I've made a bunch of branches with changes for almost all of the D routes. If anyone would like to review any of them, it would be greatly appreciated.

It looks like the toll road south of San Luis Rio Colorado is SON 197 (as is the eastern bypass of SLRC).

The revised systems are live on https://tmstage.teresco.org/ now:

https://tmstage.teresco.org/hb/index.php?sys=mexdn
https://tmstage.teresco.org/hb/index.php?sys=mexedn

I'll review the routes before the systems will be applied to the production server.

@neroute2, please fix the DL errors first: https://tmstage.teresco.org/devel/datacheck.php?sys=mexdn,mexedn&show=DUPLICATE_LABEL

I'll review by regions.

MEX-AGS: Aguascalientes has no mexd nor mexdn routes

MEX-BC: Baja California

MEX-BCS 1D:
Move BC201 to the centerlines of the two highways: https://travelmapping.net/devel/manual/points.php#hwy_cross
Move AreaDes to the overpass
I have reviewed the route in 2019 and hope that everything was addressed: https://github.com/TravelMapping/HighwayData/pull/3073
The ramps between RanMar and MEX1_RosN were still closed according to Sep 2020 GSV -> fine.
MEX1_S is one out of 7 MEX1 wps but the only one with direction letter. I'd rename it to MEX1_SMi or MEX1_Mig but keep MEX1_S as alt label since it is in use.

MEX-BCS 2D:
Ban -> FraBan ? What does "Fracc." mean?
PlaDart is not signed, there is nothing like this on OSM nor GM, and I don't know what it means. There is a company called "Dart". I think we should use the "nearby town" instead. Villa del Campo > VilCam. The "active" route misses this wp but I agree that we need the wp.
MEX2_HonE is west of El Hongo and MEX2_HonW is far west of it. In addition, Ban wp is in-between. Nothing is signed at the "HonW" junction but GM indicates "La Sierrita" as "nearby town": Rename MEX2_HonW to MEX2_Sie and MEX2_HonE to MEX2_Hon.

MEX-BCS: Baja California Sur

MEX-BCS 1D:
Fine

MEX-BCS 1D Cab:
Fine

MEX-BCS 19D:
Fine

MEX-CAM: Campeche

MEX-BCS 180D:
MEX180_W -> MEX180_N but keep _W as alt label because it is in use
MEX180_E -> MEX180_S but keep _W as alt label because it is in use

https://travelmapping.net/devel/manual/wayptlabels.php#underscore

Quote
If a non-exit-numbered highway is a cross road twice, add an underscored suffix. The direction letter refers to the relative position of the intersection along the route whose file is being made. US90_S is the southern of the two US 90 junctions along US 25, which runs S-N.

General question:
Is it on purpose that you omit "Calle" and "Camino" for all street names but "Avenida" is used? I tend to not agree on this...

MEX-CHIH: Chihuahua

MEX-CHIH 16D:
You have usually kept the labels in use even when the location has changed (e.g. when routes are truncated). You should add AveMigHid as alt label for BlvdJorCas.
Cieneguil -> Cie
Is the route completely signed as "16D"? I found some signs with "16" only, e.g. at eastern end (Oct 2019 GSV). OSM and GM also just indicate "16".

MEX-CHIH 45D:
Enr is off
+X3 is off
+X3A is off
CHIH26 -> CHIH37 ? I cannot find anything on GM nor GSV but OSM indicates 37 and the old wpt file has 37 too.
Should CHIH26 and MEX45_Con be merged into one wp? I know, the old wpt file also had both but it is just one interchange with one ramps 0.7 miles away from the underpass and the other ramps.

MEX-CHIH 45D Chi:
The active "Chi" route is "Sac" now and there are travelers. I'd rename Chi to Chh and keep Chi as alt route name for Sac.
+X361249 is off
Move AerChi to the overpass
+X361249 is off

MEX-CHIH 45D Sac:
MEX45DChi -> MEX45DChh ? See above.

MEX-CHIH 45D Vil:
Fine

MEX-CHIH 49D:
Remove superfluous +X329101 wp

MEX-CHIH CHIH 7D:
+X0 is off
+X1A is off
+X700584 is off

MEX-CHIH CHIH 48D:
MEX2 -> MEX2/48

MEX-CHIH CHIH 56D:
+X2 is off

MEX-CHIH CHIH 80D:
+X105364 is off
+X992697 is off

I'll wait for response on my comments before continuing so that I can consider it for the remaining routes.

@neroute2: I don't know if you have time to work on this. If you could have a look on the first feedback - I think it is not so much -, I could complete the review in the next weeks. I'm not sure how much time I'll have later....

Let's see if I can work this out now.

MEX-BC 1D:
Move BC201 to the centerlines of the two highways: https://travelmapping.net/devel/manual/points.php#hwy_cross
Move AreaDes to the overpass
Done.

MEX1_S is one out of 7 MEX1 wps but the only one with direction letter. I'd rename it to MEX1_SMi or MEX1_Mig but keep MEX1_S as alt label since it is in use.
Isn't MEX1_S the appropriate label for the south end of an alternate route?

MEX-BC 2D:
Ban -> FraBan ? What does "Fracc." mean?
Fracc is short for fraccionamiento, Spanish for neighborhood. Seems like a logical word to leave out.

PlaDart is not signed, there is nothing like this on OSM nor GM, and I don't know what it means. There is a company called "Dart". I think we should use the "nearby town" instead. Villa del Campo > VilCam. The "active" route misses this wp but I agree that we need the wp.
https://www.google.com/maps/@32.5429899,-116.7612227,3a,21.4y,137.19h,90.8t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sJlGJhqvTyz-r0lsGWiOEzg!2e0!7i16384!8i8192?entry=ttu

I'm renaming HonW to Pab, since San Pablo seems to be a definite community with a bridge named after it.

MEX-CAM 180D:
MEX180_W -> MEX180_N but keep _W as alt label because it is in use
MEX180_E -> MEX180_S but keep _W as alt label because it is in use

https://travelmapping.net/devel/manual/wayptlabels.php#underscore

180 (and hence 180D) is an east-west route.

General question:
Is it on purpose that you omit "Calle" and "Camino" for all street names but "Avenida" is used? I tend to not agree on this...

I abbreviate Calle as C, as I have seen done in Mexico. I use Cam for Camino, for example CamTep in MEX-EMEX MEX57D.

MEX-CHIH 16D:
You have usually kept the labels in use even when the location has changed (e.g. when routes are truncated). You should add AveMigHid as alt label for BlvdJorCas.
Cieneguil -> Cie
Done.

Is the route completely signed as "16D"? I found some signs with "16" only, e.g. at eastern end (Oct 2019 GSV). OSM and GM also just indicate "16".
Mexico is inconsistent; some signs say 16 and some say 16D. For example here's 16D.

MEX-CHIH 45D:
Enr is off
+X3 is off
+X3A is off
Done.

CHIH26 -> CHIH37 ? I cannot find anything on GM nor GSV but OSM indicates 37 and the old wpt file has 37 too.
I forget where I got 26 from, but it was recently signed.

Should CHIH26 and MEX45_Con be merged into one wp? I know, the old wpt file also had both but it is just one interchange with one ramps 0.7 miles away from the underpass and the other ramps.
It seems that in the past there was a separate northbound exit at CHIH26, so they were clearly built as two different interchanges.

MEX-CHIH 45D Chi:
The active "Chi" route is "Sac" now and there are travelers. I'd rename Chi to Chh and keep Chi as alt route name for Sac.
I'm going to go with ChE.

+X361249 is off
Move AerChi to the overpass
+X361249 is off
Done.

MEX-CHIH 49D:
Remove superfluous +X329101 wp
Done.

MEX-CHIH CHIH 7D:
+X0 is off
+X1A is off
+X700584 is off
Done.

MEX-CHIH CHIH 48D:
MEX2 -> MEX2/48
Done.

MEX-CHIH CHIH 56D:
+X2 is off
Done.

MEX-CHIH CHIH 80D:
+X105364 is off
+X992697 is off
Done.

Thanks for the review, and I really hope I can get to any more in less than 2.5 years :)
