Title: Changes to Europe Select Named Freeways (eursf) system
Post by: michih on August 07, 2020, 04:28:11 pm
The eursf system (https://travelmapping.net/hb/?sys=eursf) covers freeways which do not belong to any other system. It is a Select system because we cannot ensure that the system is "complete". See manual (https://travelmapping.net/devel/manual/sysdef.php#selectsys).

But we have some freeway routes in the system which are concurrent to other systems so that they are better highlighted in mapview. These are routes in regions where no dedicated motorway system exists, e.g. in Nordics.
OTOH, we have similar routes, e.g. nzlmot (https://travelmapping.net/hb/?sys=nzlmot), which are an own system in TM. And those systems can be considered to be complete to the best of our knowledge. The criteria is that they are signed with the motorway shield.

We will split of some systems from eursf to make own systems, e.g.:
This will happen soon. Expect changes to those routes:

Changes are notified as usual: https://travelmapping.net/devel/updates.php

The dnkmot (https://travelmapping.net/hb/?sys=dnkmot) system (Denmark Motorvejen), the ltuaut (https://travelmapping.net/hb/?sys=ltuaut) system (Lithuania Automagistralės) and the normot (https://travelmapping.net/hb/?sys=normot) system (Norway Motorveier) will be included with the next site update. They are tier 1 systems and drawn in blue on mapview just like other motorway systems in Europe.
