"one-point-per-interchange", arguably, It's a tram stop, (tap-off), walk to train station, (new ticket), train station. More akin to freeway-local road-arterial imho.

We can later merge it with Frecciargento and Frecciarossa for a larger Le Frecce system, which is fine with me, but for now it's good enough...

Some comments since I'm in Napoli today.

  • Extensions of metro lines 1 and 11 to the airport are still u/c but already in RB (fine for me as long the system is still in preview). I don't know when it will be opened. Latest info is "end of 2026" for line 1 (source).
  • Tram lines 1, 2 and 4 are temporarily (since September 2023) circular lines 412 and 421 now (source). I don't know what temporarily means. It was still in force today. Of course, the actual line numbers are indicated at the tram stops e.g. here.
  • There is a "Ferrovie flegree line 3" in RB. I don't get what it is. An old route? A future route? The "ÖPNV" tile does not show anything. The OSM tile shows something near the university. Is the broken concurrency with line 2 (Mos to ZooEde) intended? Since both routes are green, I guess they should use the same track here?
    Wikipedia has an article for a Ferrovia line 3 but with a different location (rathter in the east of Napoli than in the west)
  • Furnicular A is actually "Funicolare Centrale" (Augusteo - Piazza Fuga)
    Furnicular B is actually "Funicolare di Chiaia" (Parco Margherita -Cimarosa)
    Furnicular C is actually "Funicolare di Montesanto" (Montesanto -Morghen)
    Furnicular D is actually "Funicolare di Mergellina" (Mergellina - Manzoni)
    I've only seen A-D on the ÖPNV tile. I traveled "Centrale". That name is signed anywhere.

  • Just for the records (I already mentioned it in any rules thread long ago):
    I don't like how we applied the "one-point-per-interchange" approach for rail systems. I still think that we should only implement it within a system but not try to "find" the next station of a higher tier station.
    The funicular lines (yellow) are extended albeit they are "far away" and have totally different station names. Very odd is the westernmost route. There are two stops (bordered in green). Why have we moved the last stop to the metro station? The second last stop would be closer....
    Or look at the tram line in the east. Again, far away and different name.

I have not checked all routes...

I appreciate adding Italian systems though. Just traveled by train on Sardinia last week. Would love to see the route in RB. Would Sardinia have its own Railway System in addition to the „Metro“ (Tram) systems? Or More than one system? Or should it belong to a nationwide system?

So while a point should be here on TN 247 anyway, I noticed while clinching TN 396 that there is a zero milemarker here.  (Of course, I have not found that on a TDOT map...)

Mapmikey is still emailing files to Jim so I am unsure when the update will actually be in the HB.
