Title: NC: Goodbye I-495, Hello I-87
Post by: rickmastfan67 on September 07, 2017, 01:51:11 am
Some shields are going up that aren't 'Future' ones for I-87 replacing the I-495 ones.

Changes submitted to Jim...hopefully I included everything that needed to happen...

I kept I-495 and I-495Fut as Alt names...

I didn't have a chance to get these in place for tonight's update, but I have them and will do so as soon as I can.  Before I do I also wanted to make sure there is a general consensus that it's time for these changes to go in.  Seems more clear-cut than the I-11 situation that this change is both on the books and in the field.

Well, here we have picture proof that signs are already going up. :)

With me, as long as there's proof that at least some signs are posted in the field and more are going up, that's the perfect time to add the 'new' (or in this case, replace) route to the site. :)

Concurrency is broken at the I-87/US 64/US 264/US 64 Business/I-87 Future interchange.
Two of the routes (US 64 and US 264) use a different point from the other three.

The US 64/264 point was the more centered so I changed the other 3 routes to match that point and submitted to Jim...

I-87 Future is missing the point for exit 14, which is on US 64 and US 264, breaking concurrency.

It looks like this has already been taken care of in the HB, but the new exit numbers for I-87 in place of US 64 are starting to go up next week.  The NCDOT link is slightly misleading by referring to all of the mile markers as exit numbers instead of focusing on the interchanges themselves.
