Satellite Imagery Randomly Shuts Off On Occasion
« on: December 17, 2016, 06:08:50 pm »
Once every week or so, the satellite imagery will randomly shut itself off. I am posting that here because it only seems to happen on this website. Here is an example, the first one was taken just now on normal Google Maps with satellite on:
-The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step... on the gas.

Just a guess, but maybe the number of overlays we have on the map (all of the highway segments and in some cases also the waypoints) might tax the Google Maps API and/or your browser a lot more than the standard Google Maps views.
