Updated introductory instructions for review
« on: June 08, 2023, 10:19:58 pm »
I've made an editing pass through our "How to Participate" page, focusing on using the .list Tool in showroute over manual .list entry creation.  It's just on the devel server for now:

https://tmdevel.teresco.org/participate.php

Please take a look, let me know soon if you see anything that needs fixing before I put this up on the main site.  Feedback from both experienced project contributors and newer users is welcome!

I can review it on Sunday if you upload your changes to Github.

I had a quick look into the relevant paragraphs.

Quote
showroute provides a list of waypoints that you use specify the start and end points of segments that represent of your travels.
Is grammar fine?

Mapview should be italic just like showroute.

Quote
Click on a segment then hold shift while clicking
Should the "shift key" be highlighted, e.g. "shift" or <SHIFT> or shift? Or even add the word "key"?

Quote
If you already have any segments selected for the route in Travel Mapping from a previous .list file submission
"Mapped" instead of "selected"?

I prefer having .list file indicated with < code > tags like we have on the production server.

Thanks, I've made these changes and installed the new version on the production server.

I continue to welcome feedback here or via pull requests on how to improve the beginner instructions.
