Title: MN: MN 298 / MN 323 in Faribault
Post by: terminal_moraine on May 30, 2017, 12:16:02 pm
The highway browser currently shows the following for these highways in Faribault:

MN 298 extends south from MN 60 through the state corrections facility
MN 323 (all 0.14 miles of it) branches off of MN 298 at the entrance to the corrections facility, to serve the State Academy for the Blind.

The 2015 MN trunk highway log shows that MN 323 no longer exists, and MN 298 no longer extends through the corrections facility.  It now turns right at the entrance to the correction facility, and continues signed as MN 298 over the previous MN 323.  To put it another way, MN 298 now has the same initial 0.32 mile routing as it previously had, then adds the 0.14 miles from MN323, to achieve a new total of 0.46 miles.

I drove through Faribault a few months ago and confirmed this signage.
