It appears from satellite imagery that a new MN36 bridge over the St. Criox river is still under construction, but enough has changed at the MN side to allow for some reworking of the waypoints at the MN36_W/MN95_S junction.
-
Given that the bridge will supposedly open before the end of summer, I'm waiting until then.
-
Reminder for myself to fix this when the new bridge opens late next week.
-
Drove over it today. Can confirm that the current reality on the ground matches what OSM shows in terms of where the new roadways are. Changes are needed to the following routes.
MN 36: removed from downtown Stillwater, routed onto the new bridge
MN 95: has not moved, but no longer has a concurrency with MN 36, so points will need renaming
WI 64: moved onto new bridge and approach
WI 35: rerouted east on new roadway south of Houlton, joins WI 64 at new interchange
The former routings of WI 35 and WI 64 through Houlton are no longer numbered state highways. Likewise for Chestnut St East on the Minnesota side. The old bridge is closed to traffic, and I believe this is intended to be permanent.

Some of the online maps have been updated (OSM included) but Google Maps still does not show it.
-
From discussions I had with locals last night and my own observations, all the above information is indeed correct. The closure of the old lift bridge is permanent and it is being converted to a bike/ped path. All surface routings west of WI 64's little curve are decommissioned, as is MN 36 through Stillwater.
FWIW, all 3 of us that have posted so far, as well as at least one other travel mapping member, visited Stillwater separately this weekend.

Merged into the pre-existing thread. I plan on tackling this once I'm back in Vermont and settled in.

Changes submitted. Point changes are most impactful on the Wisconsin side...
