Title: NC: NC 24 Point Concerns
Post by: Markkos1992 on March 25, 2021, 04:26:55 pm
(From east to west, thankfully the NC 27 concurrency was not too crazy)

1.    The shaping point east of NC 172 could be replaced by a visible point at Pittman Rd (PitRd) (https://www.google.com/maps/@34.7159973,-77.1843588,3a,75y,11.72h,89.68t/data=!3m7!1e1!3m5!1sKQc-xJabe1fwlrES5XQ2Ww!2e0!6shttps:%2F%2Fstreetviewpixels-pa.googleapis.com%2Fv1%2Fthumbnail%3Fpanoid%3DKQc-xJabe1fwlrES5XQ2Ww%26cb_client%3Dmaps_sv.tactile.gps%26w%3D203%26h%3D100%26yaw%3D186.43747%26pitch%3D0%26thumbfov%3D100!7i13312!8i6656).
2.    US258_E should be US258_S or US258/53.
3.   I would replace CouSquLn with Blue Creek Rd (BluCreRd) (https://www.google.com/maps/@34.7569973,-77.4802237,3a,75y,231.72h,90.09t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sz6b0ShNi5ttOcItim4xlyg!2e0!7i13312!8i6656).  (also affects US 258)
4.   NC111_W should just be NC111.  (also affects US 258) (restart at NC111_W)
5.   The shaping point southwest of Richlands should be replaced with a visible point at Gregory Fork Rd (GreForkRd) (https://www.google.com/maps/@34.8682822,-77.5480007,3a,75y,230.37h,81.92t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sn75C-Kp3nd2A6iq1OLrrIA!2e0!7i13312!8i6656).  (also affects US 258)
6.   US258_W should be US258_N and recentered. (may affect tolerance on the northwest side of Richlands on both NC 24 and US 258, the only useful point I see in that area is Franck St)
7.   I am not sure that I can justify Brinson Ln (BriLn) (https://www.google.com/maps/@34.9238523,-77.650447,3a,75y,304.88h,87.66t/data=!3m7!1e1!3m5!1s1bsehsvewG5u4O9thLlFEw!2e0!6shttps:%2F%2Fstreetviewpixels-pa.googleapis.com%2Fv1%2Fthumbnail%3Fpanoid%3D1bsehsvewG5u4O9thLlFEw%26cb_client%3Dmaps_sv.tactile.gps%26w%3D203%26h%3D100%26yaw%3D72.1019%26pitch%3D0%26thumbfov%3D100!7i13312!8i6656) as a viable visible point to replace the nearby shaping point.
8.   The shaping point east of WagFordRd should be replaced with a visible point at Willard Edwards Rd (WilEdwRd) (https://www.google.com/maps/@34.916175,-77.6875203,3a,37.5y,61.42h,87.81t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1s3wCvrRbDaWee4_0yrvOEKQ!2e0!7i13312!8i6656).
9.   It seems to me that NC 241 ends at the NC 41/NC 111 intersection (https://www.google.com/maps/@34.9280388,-77.7725473,3a,75y,210.75h,97.76t/data=!3m7!1e1!3m5!1siZu5b-7mPU972q2HmBy6dA!2e0!6shttps:%2F%2Fstreetviewpixels-pa.googleapis.com%2Fv1%2Fthumbnail%3Fpanoid%3DiZu5b-7mPU972q2HmBy6dA%26cb_client%3Dmaps_sv.tactile.gps%26w%3D203%26h%3D100%26yaw%3D8.856537%26pitch%3D0%26thumbfov%3D100!7i13312!8i6656) to the north looking at GSV there further despite this assembly (https://www.google.com/maps/@34.9237027,-77.7731632,3a,75y,305.58h,90.44t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sXi1o2aNrZNqJ33ymMDiZVA!2e0!7i13312!8i6656).
10.   The shaping point west of NC41/111 could be replaced with a visible point at Williams Rd (WilRd) (https://www.google.com/maps/@34.9349882,-77.8464323,3a,15y,150.39h,86.82t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1swXwzkKL-Stpt442dqCYGGg!2e0!7i13312!8i6656).
11.   A point should be added at Union Rd (UniRd) (https://www.google.com/maps/@34.9921747,-78.183842,3a,75y,96.15h,88.94t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sNmXz-n1Ttbu3EH85W4BnbQ!2e0!7i13312!8i6656) west of I-40 as the route basically goes out of tolerance east of here.
12.   BlaSt should be BlaRd (https://www.google.com/maps/@35.0234426,-78.7089269,3a,75y,246.65h,84.29t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1svxUr4CJc1UHSj66Q3uLkzA!2e0!7i13312!8i6656).
13.   A point should be added at Ramsey St (RamSt) (https://www.google.com/maps/@35.0570403,-78.8762586,3a,75y,300.25h,89.88t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sDOU7jFVM3H6JoF8ltdOUGw!2e0!7i16384!8i8192) due to the connection to US 401 BUS and US 401.  (also affects NC 210)
14.   NC210Fay should be NC210_FayN.
15.   The NC 87 and NC 210 concurrencies from here are covered in the NC 87 thread.
16.   While Marks Rd (MarRd) (https://www.google.com/maps/@35.2713529,-79.0832213,3a,15y,134.3h,90.12t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sB5SlICDRd_w02hyWvS0paA!2e0!7i16384!8i8192) would help out with shaping, there is another selfish reason to mention a potential point hereā€¦
17.   The US15/501 points should be S and N instead of W and E. (also affects NC 27)
18.   The NC22 points should be N and S (https://www.google.com/maps/@35.3449311,-79.4157752,3a,75y,309.43h,82.74t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sjNbsikrdD3UXNwjxNt_nMg!2e0!7i13312!8i6656) instead of W and E. (also affects NC 27)
19.   The shaping point west of NC22_E should be removed.  (also affects NC 22 and NC 27)
20.   The shaping point west of this last one should be replaced with a visible point at Old Glenden Rd (OldGleRd) (https://www.google.com/maps/@35.3550628,-79.4245526,3a,15y,273.12h,86.29t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1ss8cTgG7hqJ-rsUaev2aT8w!2e0!7i13312!8i6656).  (also affects NC 22 and NC 27)
21.   The shaping point west of NC22_N should be replaced with visible points at Alex Rd (https://www.google.com/maps/@35.3982015,-79.621108,3a,37.5y,144.11h,91.75t/data=!3m7!1e1!3m5!1sGc4r_TKhQ9kt2szQq8pizA!2e0!6shttps:%2F%2Fstreetviewpixels-pa.googleapis.com%2Fv1%2Fthumbnail%3Fpanoid%3DGc4r_TKhQ9kt2szQq8pizA%26cb_client%3Dmaps_sv.tactile.gps%26w%3D203%26h%3D100%26yaw%3D105.69855%26pitch%3D0%26thumbfov%3D100!7i13312!8i6656) and Pine Grove Church Rd (https://www.google.com/maps/@35.3820121,-79.6583948,3a,75y,30.22h,88.47t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1saDSAuAvWoWn4UuluD7MFmQ!2e0!7i13312!8i6656).  (also affects NC 27)
22.   The shaping point on the Troy Bypass should be replaced by a visible point at Pekin Rd (PekRd).  (also affects NC 27)
23.   AshRd should be replaced with McNRd (McNeilRd) (https://www.google.com/maps/@35.3214723,-80.1242725,3a,75y,123.94h,87.06t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1szl8TSwvduUusIz7VuihYaA!2e0!7i16384!8i8192). (also affects NC 27 and NC 73)
24.   US52Bus_N should be US52Bus.  (also affects NC 27 and NC 73)
25.   MainSt should be slightly recentered.  (also affects NC 27)
26.   FroPondRd should be FrogPondRd.  (also affects NC 27)
27.   The shaping point north of NC27_W should be replaced with a visible point at Hickory Grove Rd (HicGroRd) (https://www.google.com/maps/@35.2230341,-80.7249401,3a,75y,15.51h,94.29t/data=!3m7!1e1!3m5!1sKBAR8kmA6Slw8idrKW5NZw!2e0!6shttps:%2F%2Fstreetviewpixels-pa.googleapis.com%2Fv1%2Fthumbnail%3Fpanoid%3DKBAR8kmA6Slw8idrKW5NZw%26cb_client%3Dmaps_sv.tactile.gps%26w%3D203%26h%3D100%26yaw%3D69.818985%26pitch%3D0%26thumbfov%3D100!7i16384!8i8192).
28.   NeilRd should be OldConRd (Old Concord Rd) (https://www.google.com/maps/@35.2900083,-80.7290139,3a,75y,87.86h,93.17t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sClxhp6_bvheodI7U3m9Ueg!2e0!7i16384!8i8192).
29.   RadBlvd would be better served at the nearby David Cox Rd (DavCoxRd) (https://www.google.com/maps/@35.3331498,-80.7895803,3a,75y,66.67h,94.69t/data=!3m7!1e1!3m5!1srWoQKl1e7UN2CVHQlPVAQg!2e0!6shttps:%2F%2Fstreetviewpixels-pa.googleapis.com%2Fv1%2Fthumbnail%3Fpanoid%3DrWoQKl1e7UN2CVHQlPVAQg%26cb_client%3Dmaps_sv.tactile.gps%26w%3D203%26h%3D100%26yaw%3D185.91754%26pitch%3D0%26thumbfov%3D100!7i16384!8i8192).
30.   I am unsure if we have the west end of this road at the right spot.  The HB shows I-485, but your site shows SR 2004 (Mt Holly-Huntersville Rd at the west end of Harris Blvd. Signage is non-existent at Mt Holly-Huntersville Rd, but there is a NC 24 WB (https://www.google.com/maps/@35.3501418,-80.8643498,3a,75y,48.52h,90t/data=!3m7!1e1!3m5!1sb9ZqrnNT0638dAl2rFiZMQ!2e0!6shttps:%2F%2Fstreetviewpixels-pa.googleapis.com%2Fv1%2Fthumbnail%3Fpanoid%3Db9ZqrnNT0638dAl2rFiZMQ%26cb_client%3Dmaps_sv.tactile.gps%26w%3D203%26h%3D100%26yaw%3D42.69261%26pitch%3D0%26thumbfov%3D100!7i16384!8i8192) shield on the offramp from I-485 Inner. (would require updates entry if changed)

#9 - HB already has NC 241 ending at 41-111 jct

#30 - NCDOT Route Change doc says I-77 so I made no change...

all in the queue

13.   A point should be added at Ramsey St (RamSt) due to the connection to US 401 BUS and US 401.  (also affects NC 210)

It looks like the point was added to both NC 24 and NC 210, but they were not synced together somehow.

Everything else in this thread was taken care of.
