CA: US40HisAub west end duplicate point?
« on: July 10, 2023, 10:28:00 am »
I'm confused as to how the west end of US 40 Historic (Auburn) is set up. AubFolRd_S and AubFolRd_N are the same point. Is it because traffic heading to westbound 80 has to turn onto the Maple Street Bridge and not follow Lincoln Way past the Sacramento Street intersection?

No. Or perhaps maybe, but poorly executed.

The route is signed along Lincoln Way, and then up Maple. At the Maple Street Bridge junction, the sign suggests going straight on, ie back to the Auburn Folsom Road junction. The route lollypops.

I should point out that they sign the Lincoln Highway both ways from Maple Street Bridge.
