Title: ISL: TH424 is signed
Post by: michih on May 16, 2023, 02:06:39 pm
It was not yet signed in August 2013 (https://www.google.com/maps/@63.9878658,-22.575106,3a,35.5y,346.1h,90.64t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1s9ypZkX2t92DeHti9rGgacw!2e0!7i13312!8i6656) but in May 2018 (https://www.mapillary.com/app/?pKey=792469541645175&lat=63.988040532045&lng=-22.575165806359&z=17&focus=photo&x=0.6305435141500711&y=0.6561869193446664&zoom=2.122293273668412). It's also indicated on https://vegasja.vegagerdin.is/eng/

Oh goodie, another route that officially has two forks but no signs for either of them (see also TH218). Indeed, it looks like it is only signed from TH41 and nowhere else.

I'd throw my head at the desk but this is about typical for Iceland, routes don't get signed well or at all in urbanized areas.

Anyway I think I'm going to map it up to the "T" (actually a roundabout) and not map either of the forks after that since there are no signs for either.

I drove the road from route 41 to Hafnargata today. It is only signed on route 41 (northbound and southbound), see May 2018 pic above. It is not signed anywhere along the route.

btw, route 423 is also just signed as we have it in HB :)
