IL: I-57 issues
« on: June 06, 2024, 11:42:57 pm »
missing exit -> 232 - Opened sometime between Sep '07 & Jun '11.
+X34 -> shaping point needs a recenter.  Currently a good distance to the east of the highway.
missing exit -> 358 (Wentworth Ave) - This exit gained an exit number back between Dec '18 & May '19.  Before that, it was unnumbered.
358 -> I-94 - As far back as I can go with GSV, the final interchange with I-94 has never had an exit number.  This does complicate things with the Wentworth Ave ramp (an SB only exit) gaining the first official 358 posting as mentioned above.

I don't know how to include the Wentworth exit while also centering the point for the I-57/94 interchange in the interchange.

Wentworth crosses I-57 well to the west of the center of the 57/94 interchange. I don't see the problem.

The center of the triangle is far south of the Wentworth exit.

Who cares where the exit is? Put the point at the overpass.

Would this new point not run afoul of the one-point-per-interchange rule? The sole ramp is well within the I-57/I-94 interchange (and a mere 400 feet beyond the I-57/I-94 split), and the Wentworth Ave overpass is borderline within the interchange as well. (At the same interchange, there's also the onramp from Michigan Ave to I-94 NB, which does not have a point.)

I think they're mostly referring to the 'labeling' part, since I-94 is currently incorrectly labeled as '358', even though the interchange has had no exit number posted there ever.

Minus the 358 discussion, the other changes are shown now in the HB.

I am fine with the 358 point as-is.  I am pretty sure that I ignored this during my past looks at I-57 because it is truly within the interchange.

In regard to 232, I just clinched I-57 south of US 30 last year so I have no idea how I missed that.
