FL US 441 Truck (Lake City)
« on: June 17, 2021, 11:04:42 am »
I took a trip from Jacksonville, Florida, through Lake City, Florida, on my way into Georgia. US 441 Truck in Lake City is concurrent with US 41 from the northern split of US 41 and US 441 to Columbia CR 100A, then follows that highway east to US 441.  However, the truck route is only shown in the HB as far north as US 90.

This is because 'mainline' US-441 was rerouted in Lake City out onto US-41 & FL-100A (was CR-100A, but got upgraded when FDOT took it over for the US-441 reroute).

Since we don't add Truck Routes that are along the parent highway itself, that's why it now ends @ US-90.

So, I don't see anything that needs to be done here honestly.

US 41 and US 441 are separate highways in Lake City itself.  Neither of them are concurrent with US 90.  The truck route is signed along US 41 only, not on US 441.  Is there a discrepancy between the signage and what FDOT indicates is actually designated?  If you look at Google Maps, you will see that it agrees with what I saw.

Google hasn't updated yet.  This isn't the first time they're behind the 8-ball on stuff like this.  They still don't have a new segment of WV-817 that's been built on a new alignment and been open for over 2 years when even their Sat & StreetView show it open and posted as WV-817.

Did you read the post I linked to over on AARoads above?  The AASHTO approved this move a few years ago as well.  FDOT GIS also has this reroute in it's data.

Do you have an updated map that shows what is the current road setup in Lake City.  I'm just so confused as to what is currently there.  I thought I saw signs that showed exactly what Google Maps Streetview is showing.

This is the best that I can do.  I took this directly from the GIS data in the viewer I use.

Blue = Interstates
Red = US Highways
Black = State Highways
Pink = County Highways
