Switzerland
Vaud RER
On RER Vaud lines R1/R2 (Grandson–Lausanne–Cully), there will be a half-hourly service to all stations between Chavornay and Cully with double-decker trains on weekdays. Services to Eclépens, Bavois and Villette stations will be increased to one train every 30 minutes, with both lines stopping.
On RER Vaud lines R3/R4 (Le Brassus/Vallorbe–Lausanne–Bex), trains will systematically run to Bex. Bex will now be served by the RER Vaud twice an hour, compared with once an hour at present.
The new RER Vaud R7 line between Vevey, Puidoux and Palézieux will connect the Riviera, Chablais and Valais regions (Simplon line, InterRegio IR95) to the Swiss Plateau line (InterRegio IR15) towards Fribourg/Freiburg and German-speaking Switzerland once an hour, without passing through Lausanne. As an example, this change at Palézieux will shorten the journey from Aigle to Fribourg/Freiburg by seven minutes. However, to ensure connections at both Vevey and Palézieux, it is not possible to continue serving Vevey-Funi and Corseaux-Cornalles stations. A bus service between Vevey and Chexbres (218) will be put in place for the Vevey-Funi and Corseaux-Cornalles stops during peak times. Please note that the Corseaux-Cornalles stop will still be served in the direction of Vevey to Palézieux by the last train at 23:36 on weekdays and by the last two trains at 23:36 and 00:36 on weekends.
On the R8/R9 lines Allaman–Lausanne–Payerne(–Murten), two trains per hour will run between Lausanne and Payerne every day until 9pm, compared with once per hour previously. The towns between Payerne and Murten will be served every hour by the R9 line. Prilly-Malley cannot be served by trains on the R8 line due to the close intervals of trains between Lausanne and Renens. However, connections are possible in both directions to/from the stops between Allaman and Denges-Echandens from/to Prilly-Malley, with a change at Renens. Prilly-Malley will be served by the R9. It should be noted that this service at Prilly-Malley on the R9 line is not yet guaranteed after December 2025 (2026 timetable) due to the works phases at Lausanne station. In addition, with the agreement of the relevant municipalities, the decision has been taken to serve Lonay-Préverenges every half an hour, compared with every hour previously. Morges-St-Jean and Denges-Echandens will continue to be served every hour.
Freiburg S-bahn
New direct connections will be introduced every half an hour between Lausanne and Fribourg/Freiburg, with a service every hour from Oron (S41) or Vauderens (S40) following the RER Fribourg|Freiburg S30 route between Fribourg/Freiburg and Yverdon-les-Bains and connecting with long-distance services at Yverdon-les-Bains and Fribourg/Freiburg. This will result in a significant improvement in services for Oron and Vauderens, from just six times a day in each direction on weekdays to once an hour.
From 28 June 2025, lines S40/41 will follow line S30, providing a new direct half-hourly connection between Lausanne and Yverdon-les-Bains via Fribourg/Freiburg.
