FL 470: where do the endpoints come from?

(1/2) > >>

FL 470 is clearly signed at I-75 and CR 475, but nowhere else. There are no signs for begin or end state maintenance. It's not in the SLDs or GIS data. So where do our endpoints come from?

rickmastfan67:
Guesses, due to the limited signage there.  I pretty much went with the ends of the construction area that was visible in StreetView.  Was the best solution I could come up with due to no END signage anywhere.

--- Quote ---He also spoke in length on item seven, the Jurisdictional Transfer Status for County Road 470, informing the Board that the State had gone through a study and then stopped. They did not move forward with the Jurisdictional Transfer so the State's website did not show closure on whether they would be moving forward with the transfer or not, which in turn has caused problems with development potential in that area. Mr. Arnold and the Chairman asked the Secretary of State to put closure on this item. After working with his staff, the Secretary's office concluded that they would not be moving forward with the Jurisdictional Transfer and therefore the state would not be moving forward with the widening of 470 and realignment.

The audio confirms that the swap for SR 48 was cancelled. So only the portion within the interchange ROW is state maintained. I have requested the ROW maps from the state to determine the exact endpoints.

neroute2:
The east end of the 1979 ROW transfer west of I-75 was at the limited access ROW line, which was 349.94 feet east of the section line (CR 491) and 472.24 feet west of the centerline of I-75. It appears that this is about 30 feet east of CR 495, which is presumably close enough to use CR 495 as the west end.

The west end of the 1978 ROW transfer east of I-75 was at the east edge of the railroad ROW. Being about 250 feet east of CR 475, this should probably get an End point.

I can't determine if there were any changes during the recent widening of I-75.

I can send you the files if desired.

If the swap for FL-48 didn't happen, why is there CR-48 signage around the interchange there?  Oh boy, this opened up another can of worms.  The only FL-48 signage I saw, was from the intersection with US-301 up to the intersection where it turns west to head to I-75.
