LA: More disappearing routes

(1/3) > >>

osu-lsu:
From my trip to Baton Rouge, last week, I can confirm the following...

LA 427(Pra) has been cut back from Siegen Ln (LA3246) all the way south to US 61 (Airline Hwy).
Interestingly enough, the fine folks in Ascension Parish have kept the signs for LA 427 between US 61 & La 73, a mere 1/3 of a mile length.
With the deletion of LA 427(Pra), that will leave a dangling end for LA 928 at Perkins Rd (former LA 427). I let the admins sort that out.

LA 1248 has no signs along Bluebonnet between La 42 (Burbank) and La 30 (Nicholson).

LA 3019 no longer exists along Veterans Blvd. in Orleans Parish. Saw no signs for that number while down there.

It seems like LA does not want me to clinch anything beyond I-10, its auxiliaries, and I-12 next month.

The part in East Baton Rouge Parish has been removed, but the LADOTD functional classification viewer says the Ascension Parish segment remains in the state system. I'll cut it back to the parish line.

LADOTD's viewer seems to indicate that the entire route has been relinquished. Signs are also gone at Perkins Rd (former LA 427). But they remain on I-10 as of December 2021. Did you happen to notice any changes at that end?

So you're saying that this sign is no longer there? That's the only evidence I've ever seen of signage on this road. That GMSV imagery is from last month.

Markkos1992:
Looking a bit deeper at LA 426, it seems like it has been truncated to Sherwood Forest Blvd (East of intersection) (West of intersection).

I also saw removed signage when looking at the US 190 intersection over the last few days.

Also LA 73 may have been split into parts....  This is getting weird.  I am glad that Puerto Rico is done.

Well if there are as many truncations/changes around Baton Rouge as I may be thinking (as I continue to route plan for my Natchez, MS, trip), relooking at LA may be more important for you mapcat than anything else in your other states combined.

Finally, I did determine that LA 3064 has at least been extended to Highland Ave (and signage is as far south as LA 42 (if it is still LA 42).

I'm done with this for now.  I just want to know what I should clinch off the interstates and what I should not bother with.   :pan:

Dave, I didn't go north of Burbank along Bluebonnet. I have no idea what is going on between Perkins and I-10.
I missed that sign on Veterans. If GSV shows it there from last month, then I'll take the mileage (all 1/2 mile of it)
