Title: MD: MD 284 Points for MD 285
Post by: Markkos1992 on February 07, 2019, 05:59:26 pm
Normally I would consider this a point error as MD 285 (https://www.google.com/maps/@39.5367685,-75.8093533,3a,37.5y,110.15h,82.4t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sIRHEl2Kn11ct_aGNSs9stQ!2e0!7i13312!8i6656) seems to be posted E-W; however, 2008 GSV shows N-S postings for MD 285 (https://www.google.com/maps/@39.5332565,-75.8071661,3a,75y,351.76h,90t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sadLTrz6jKeSjnAxo1zcI8w!2e0!7i3328!8i1664) from the north end of MD 284.

Besides the banners which do indeed appear to say north and south (but it's old low-res GMSV and not really legible, so who knows), both points are in use, so changing this would involve keeping both as hidden labels.

I'm inclined to leave this be, but open to being convinced otherwise if people think there is good reason to change it.

I have 2016 photos that show 285 posted N-S and E-W depending on the intersection...

Yeah this is why I knew that this was not cut-and-dry as it normally is when I catch these.  It may be best to leave as-is just for route orientation due to the odd posting.
