NM: NM 461 & NM 355 are unsigned
« on: June 07, 2021, 10:23:57 pm »
Looking for NM 461 last week, I checked all the roads leading east from US 54 in that general area, between NM 55 & NM 349, and didn't see anything that appeared to be a state highway at all. Looking at it now in GMSV, it appears that it's now a private road. I managed to figure out where 355 was, but didn't see any signs at either end. If 355 is kept around for any reason, note that there's an NMP with US 62/180.

Per NMDOT's Roadway Functional Class online map, NM 461 (Coyote Station Lane) is no longer in the state highway system. The cattle grates visible in GMSV don't mean it's a private road (probably just it's in open-range country, where cattle needs to be kept off major roads but not the minor ones), but it's still not a state highway.

NM 355 still is in the system, as of when the online map was updated in 2019. But it still gets deep-sixed from TM, as unsigned.

To go into my queue for removal and edits to the connecting US highways, with my next pull request as I wrap up some cleanup work in northern Nevada.

Update: Both routes removed from the HB in tonight's site update.

Right, I know that there are plenty of cattle guards on state highways in open range country, but the "Posted No Hunting No Trespassing" sign on the gate gave me the impression that the road was entering private property.
