Title: Massachusetts
Post by: neroute2 on August 14, 2018, 12:21:19 am
US 6 and MA114ASee have a short overlap.
MA3APly should have a point at EveSt in Kingston. This is signed as a connection to Routes 27 and 106.
MA6AYar: add MainSt in Sandwich as a turnoff into central Sandwich
MA25 has exit numbers: I-495 -> 1, MapSprRd/GlenChaRd -> 2, MA28 -> 3.
MA138: add BufSt in Somerset as a reasonably major intersection with a diner and a cupcake shop that we stopped at
MA140: US6 -> 1 (as signed)

Topic moved.

US 6 and MA114ASee have a short overlap.
Fixed.

Short answer: If someone specifically needs it for their list file.

MA6AYar: add MainSt in Sandwich as a turnoff into central Sandwich
This can replace a nearby shaping point.

MA25 has exit numbers: I-495 -> 1, MapSprRd/GlenChaRd -> 2, MA28 -> 3.
Fixed. MapSprRd & GlenChaRd are "double half interchanges" > 0.5 mi apart, so they can into 2 and 2A

MA138: add BufSt in Somerset as a reasonably major intersection with a diner and a cupcake shop that we stopped at
Granted.

MA140: US6 -> 1 (as signed)
Fixed.

We ate at a restaurant right at EveSt, so it would be nice to have :) Thanks.

Long answer: This is in the Road_Inventory shapefiles with Route_Syst = "N" (whatever that means), making it less important than a state route and more important than a Route_Syst = "L" road. There are a lot of these roads, and with MA's dense settlement patterns and road network, it could be easy to get carried away adding these points (How about, say, an ElmSt on MA106?), and ending up with too dense of a blob of waypoints in the system. Hence I'm hesitant to start down that road, unless a point is needed.

Nevertheless, "someone specifically needs it for their list file", so I can add it in. The fact that it's a signed connection TO foo doesn't hurt either.

While I was in the editor, I replaced a few hidden shaping points with visible waypoints.

Thanks :) I tried not to request any points that I "needed" but were little minor roads.
