I think all of NC-147 is getting renumbered very soon once the I-885 connector is opened due to the southern 'Toll' part getting renumbered as NC-885.  So, making this change might not be worthwhile at this time.

Just thought I'd at least post this here so it isn't lost.  We can move over to the other area once it's officially open.

But bob7374 over @ AARoads posted a cropped image showing what most of the new exit numbers will be after the designations officially change.

While waiting for NCDOT to actually attach a map of upcoming I-885 route and exit number changes that was indicated as attached in their press release of May 4, found out that the News & Observer published a cropped version on May 7:

First NC-885 shields have shown up.

Plus the connector might be opening up right after the holiday.

New files for I-885 and NC 885 created.

NC 147 truncated and new exit numbers assigned.  Because the new Exit 1 for NC 147 is actually 1A-1B-1C, I am able to keep 1 as a deprecated label for those who had already driven the entirety of NC 147.

In the queue

I have to check my photos to clarify, but I think that the 1C label on NC 147 at NC 55 should actually be 2.

...and I caught this just in time to change my .list to reflect the renumbering (of both highways and exits) with my last bulk update.

Issue I just noticed with I-885/US-70's JCT.

1. Carr Rd 'technically' doesn't have an interchange with I-885, but does with US-70, and is Exit 288A.
2. Shouldn't we have a point where the 'true' interchange is with US-70/I-885?  Having them 'merge' at Carr Road doesn't look right at all.

Thus, my suggestions are as follows:

US-70:
NEW -> 288 (where the connection between the two are) ( suggestion of here for the coordinates: http://www.openstreetmap.org/?lat=35.976166&lon=-78.854499 )
I-885(10) -> 288A

I-885:
NEW -> 10 (where the connection between the two are) ( suggestion of here for the coordinates: http://www.openstreetmap.org/?lat=35.976166&lon=-78.854499 )
10 (current) -> 288A(70) since I-885 doesn't have it's own off-ramps to it, but does have the one on-ramp going NB.

Reminds me of I-95, 195, and US6 in Rhode Island.
Check out the HDX or "Color by Concurrencies" in mapview to see how the concurrencies work out.

I did not comment on this before because I was fine with it as-is especially since the I-885 SB/US 70 EB split is within the footprint of the Carr Rd interchange, but I did ponder on it for a bit.
