Submitting this change 2025.03.11.

I have wondered whether I should be including ICs with minor roads (prefectural routes >= 100, or unnamed local roads) on controlled-access sections of national highways.  Is it accepted practice to include all ICs on such roads?

I have also wondered whether I should be using the route name or the IC name as the wp name.  I have tended to use the IC name only when there is not a route number.  Is there a standard?

What if there is neither a route name or an IC name - annoyingly common in Japan?   (There probably is a road name, known only to the road dept, such as "Nakayama Traffic Relief Route 6".)  Should I use the town/neighborhood name or something similar?  The names on exit signs are options, but the names often refer to areas not adjacent to the IC, sort of like control cities.

If the interchange has a name, that should be an acceptable label.

Please check option 6 to 9 of the rule linked above.
