OR: US 30 Point Concerns and Graph Connection
« on: August 02, 2021, 10:56:29 am »
1.  Should OldUS30Ast be marked as closed?
2.  Should ScanRd be ScaCanRd?
3.  JohnDayRivRd should be shortened.
4.  It looks like a graph connection is missing at I-84 (Exit 16) with the east end of US 30 Bypass (Portland). Of course, with US 30 itself on I-84, why is US 30 Bypass (Portland) not US 30 Business (Portland)?

Because that's how it's signed.

I should have clarified that I knew that was the case from watching roadwaywiz's I-205 footage uploaded this morning.  I more brought it up because the BYPASS designation here does not make sense to my brain.

Back before the Interstate days, Bypass 30 was a true bypass, particularly of downtown Portland.
Now the area's gotten dense enough that the bypass as we'd define it is almost meaningless, but still, it's signed correctly as an option for those trying to avoid downtown while going between East County or the Gorge and Scappoose/St Helens.

If not outright shifted to a shapepoint. Marking as closed seems reasonable.

2.  Should ScanRd be ScaCanRd?
I suspect this is an artifact from when the US routes were first drafted before I joined CHM and drafted Oregon Routes. Agreed.

3.  JohnDayRivRd should be shortened.
I'm not particuarly... bothered? by how it is (this one's very tame compared to the ones I've been dealing with for India's). But JDRivRd?

The map looks good... I'll have to double check the coordinates I have between I-84 and Bypass 30.

Not counting the BypUS30/US30/I-84 graph connection, changes made local.

Can I get a coordinate verification for the graph connection so I can fix it? It looks good on the map.

I would go with (45.539887°, -122.41838°).  This is the coordinate for I-84 and US 30.
