The current routing for Ontario Highway 7 shows that it starts at Markham Road.

That is not true, it actually starts 168 metres east of Reesor Road. This is evidenced by the change in pavement quality, despite the lack of any sign showing the change.

The section from Markham Road to Reesor Road that is currently there is part of York Regional Road 7.

rickmastfan67, DK if this checks out or not, but if ON7 keeps its current endpoint, the ON48 label would need to change.

Check out this map of York Regional Roads found on York Region's website, which shows their jurisdiction:

Google Streetview viewing westbound at Reesor Road, there's a RR-7 sign

I was mistaken about having no sign to indicate ON-7, there is one with this Streetview, and it also shows the pavement change. (Looking eastbound after Reesor Road)

Wikiepedia says this:
"Beginning of eastern segment lies 185 metres (607 ft) east of Donald Cousens Parkway; road continues west as York Regional Road 7"
(current 'RR48Mar')

However, when I looked up the Traffic AADT from the Ministry of Transportation (last year posted is 2016), it claims exactly what I have in the HB right now.

I'll contact somebody on AARoads that I know works in the MOT, and see if he can give us a definitive answer here.  But just looking at the signage shown in StreetView, I'm more inclined to put the start/end of that segment @ Reesor Road, due to the placement of that ON-7 shield you showed.

OK, he just got back to me, and andrepoiy, he says you're unfortunately incorrect.  The correct transition from York control to MTO control is on the West side of Reesor Rd (not the East side), between it & Donald Cousens Pkwy @ this pavement transition.  He gave no comment as to why there's a "York Region 7" shield on the one traffic light pole @ Reesor Rd, so I've asked for some clarification there.

So, as soon as I hear back from him on the shield issue, I'll determine where I want to put the start/end point.  Either between Donald Cousens Pkwy & Reesor Rd, or directly @ the Reesor Rd intersection.

Just going to have ON 7 now starting right @ Reesor Road.
