Title: NC: NC 74 (Future I-74) Opening Between US 421 and US 158
Post by: Markkos1992 on August 31, 2020, 04:14:41 pm
According to the AARoadsForum, this should open this week (https://www.aaroads.com/forum/index.php?topic=18.msg2529859#msg2529859).

Also I want to thank MalmeRoads.net for making it easy to identify the temporary NC 74 designation (http://www.malmeroads.net/i7374nc/i74seg4.html).

are we still adding new future interstate segments to TM?

I don't think so.  Unless they directly connect to another 'Future' segment of said route already in the HB and can be added to that part.

To me, they're mostly useless from a TM point of view.  They're mostly (almost all?) concurrent with routes in other active systems.  The minor benefits I can see are that they let the route be all drafted and ready to be flipped into usai when they become genuine interstates, and they let users add list entries for the usaif routes that instantly give them the new mileage in usai when the routes move there (via AltRouteNames).

Is there any support at this time for removing the usaif system from TM?

I am unsure if this debate is relevant here.  My understanding is that for now it will be signed as NC 74 then changed to I-74 when it extends to I-40.

Having said that, I would think that the NC 74 designation would make the Future I-74 designation unnecessary in this instance anyway.

NC 74 is showing up in Updates, but the route itself is not found.

Seems the 'usanc' files weren't updated to include the new route, as the file itself is on the site.

I've pushed a fix for that.  Jim, could you pull that in this morning?

Looks like I forgot to move the CSVs into place.  I'll use the ones mapmikey sent and run a site update.

A point also needs to be added for 226 for I-40 BL (Winston-Salem) unless we are fine with deleting that route now.

EDIT: Unrelated, but a point should also be added on US 158 at Old Greensboro Rd based on this signage (https://www.google.com/maps/@36.1154412,-80.1869348,3a,75y,226.69h,74.92t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sAJCYJjyI2Dp6yfd7m7s27g!2e0!7i13312!8i6656).

Anyone know if it is still posted?  GMSV from Sept 2019 shows it is.

NCDOT takes forever to de-post stuff.  Still awaiting on US 311 depost confirmation from somewhere plus the US 70 major reroute...

Sorry about the failed site update with the NC 74 csv update.  I launched it and didn't pay attention.  Looks like the header line was erroneously deleted from the usanc_con.csv file.  Fixing and re-running.

As far as I know, it still is.  I cannot easily find an update on the AARoads Forum or NCDOT's website.

This is the last I saw on US 311. (https://www.aaroads.com/forum/index.php?topic=18.msg2520744#msg2520744)

Exit number for that is wrong.  It's posted as Exit #227.  Needs fixed in I-40BL, US-421 & NC-150's files.
