This would be around the town of Raeford. I ran into this a ways back and just haven't been back to fix it. So, I figured I would ask for these points to close up my gap and to help anyone else who falls for the same thing.
My wife and I were trying to knock out some roads as we made our way down into South Carolina. We were heading eastbound on NC 211 from Aberdeen to Raeford. They appear to have an unofficial bypass around downtown along Palmer St. As we were coming into town, there was a sign for To South US 401 and East 211. It caught me off guard and I made the turn. This looped me around downtown, crossing US 401 and then meeting back with NC 211 as it headed south onto Red Springs. I should have looped back through town to double check but we were behind schedule, so I didn't. I didn't confirm what happened until later when on the computer and looking at the maps and seeing that 211 does indeed go through town. There aren't any signs for 211 that I saw until you are much closer in to downtown.

A point on US 401 (34.972898, -79.242212) where Palmer St. crossed it may be useful as well.
