NY: I-87 Exits 3 and 4
« on: October 20, 2019, 08:36:21 pm »
As the Exit 3 construction wraps up, some old pieces are closing and new ones are opening.  Once all is said and done, supposedly within a few weeks, we'll need an I-87 point for Exit 3, and might need to move or even split Exit 4.  It's still not completely clear to me what's going to remain from the old setup, but I know Exit 4 NB is supposed to be for Wolf Rd SB once the new Exit 3 NB flyover is ready.  I'm not sure what Exit 4 SB will ultimately look like.

I think we still will not be able to have graph connectivity for Exit 3 or 4 with New York 155.  NY 155 will need a new I-87(3) point at the end of the new ramps, west of the Desmond, but the "3" point on I-87 itself will be somewhere around the new off ramps.

I don't think it's worth changing anything just yet, but it won't be long.

Exit 4 SB will be coming out where the old c/d road did.  It splits from the mainline just north of where the existing exit 5 SB on ramp is.

Long as I can reach my hotel (Hampton Inn on Ulenski Dr) on Friday night, I'm good.

Hm. Moving that weave onto the main highway seems a step backward.

might need to move or even split Exit 4.  It's still not completely clear to me what's going to remain from the old setup, but I know Exit 4 NB is supposed to be for Wolf Rd SB once the new Exit 3 NB flyover is ready.  I'm not sure what Exit 4 SB will ultimately look like.

Looks like the existing Exit 4 can stay as-is. Just add a new point for Exit 3.

I don't think it's worth changing anything just yet, but it won't be long.
Far enough along to edit NY155 IMO, though not I-87 yet.

Will read thru the AARoads thread for good measure.

It appears that this has been updated already...any reason why it hasn't been marked as solved and moved to the solved updates sub-forum?
