As noted over at the AARoads forum (https://www.aaroads.com/forum/index.php?topic=21093.msg2264970#msg2264970), most of the AR items appear to ratify decisions approved (and presumably carried out) by the state ages ago. One of them was approved more than six decades ago! So aside from the one item of genuinely new news (Future I-57), we may not need to do anything in AR.
Other major approvals: I-165 in KY, I-840 in NC, I-895 in New York => NY 895.

Waiting on signage to appear before moving forward on AR I-57.
No changes needed for the rest of the AR applications. Again.
I'll wait to see how things shake out for the Sheridan Expressway.

It looks like they started construction on it last year: https://www.bxtimes.com/stories/2018/40/40-sheridan-2018-10-05-bx.html.
Couldn't find much other information like how long the project is supposed to take.
EDIT: Found another site that says that it's supposed to be completed by the end of 2019. https://www.amny.com/news/sheridan-expressway-bike-path-1.21134764

Thanks for the heads-up.
Being too lazy to do more research at this very moment, were they going to redesignate it NY895?

Yes, see https://www.aaroads.com/forum/index.php?topic=15789.msg2343852#msg2343852

Eventually, though I'm not sure when the signs will be switched. I'm guessing when the at-grades open would be a good time to consider it switched.

The NY 895 change was done via the linked thread below.

I just drove all of NY 895 on November 3rd -- actually, I was riding shotgun and trying to navigate after we missed an exit. The entire highway was (and presumably still is, given its status 2 weeks ago) still under construction, and the at-grade intersections were, shall we say, sporadic, as in most of them were not open to traffic.
Signage-wise, it's clear that while NYSDOT considers the changeover to NY 895 a done deal, the priority was to replace the most relevant BGSs. Some of the smaller signs (MGS?) with directions on them still have I-895 shields and don't look likely to be replaced any time soon, and all the standalone shields I saw still are I-895 shields. I consider it wise not to have held our breath waiting for signage to change.
-
Except the signage did change. Specifically, as you noted, the main BGS signs. Actually, if the at-grades are still not open (note that they won't allow turns to/from NY 895 as far as I know, just crossing), I'm surprised the signage changed already; normally that happens towards the end of a project, not the middle.
-
This is from three years ago... Surely all these changes have been made already, right?
Just trying to cut down on all the numerous threads we have in this part of the forum.
-
I-840 has not been completed yet, and it still will not be fully done until 2022 at the earliest.

Yes, but the extensions that were approved have already been opened.
-
I-165 was done in this thread. (https://forum.travelmapping.net/index.php?topic=2934.0) US 319 (https://travelmapping.net/hb/showroute.php?units=miles&u=markkos1992&r=fl.us319) in FL has also been done.
yakra, do we need to wait on I-57 before finishing this thread? I believe that the other items in AR were done a long while ago.
-
ISTR once a while back (well before the recent *ns*gn*d Interstates discussion) someone made the distinction between routes that are intentionally unsigned (495, 595, 305, etc.) and ones that are planned to be signed but aren't yet. Waiting till signage is confirmed on I-57.
As far as marking the thread solved goes... I guess I never expect AASHTO topics to be locked or unlocked, as they usually require work from multiple contributors. If anyone wants to mark this solved for housekeeping purposes, go crazy; I'll watch out for I-57 either way.
-
Well for housekeeping purposes, I think these topics should be solved (especially considering that we already have a thread that is stickied with links to these threads).
Having said that, we could probably consider this one solved since we are not adding anything else to usaif (which is where I believe that I-57 in AR (https://www.interstate-guide.com/i-057/) would currently go).

A more detailed response several gallons of coffee later...
FWIW, my purpose in creating the AASHTO sticky wasn't so much to create a checklist as a historical reference, an answer to "When did XYZ happen?"
Yes, it is good to make sure everything in the posts gets addressed. That can take a long time, though. The Cresson TX bypass was approved in May 2012. The first shovel turned in 2020.
It's stuff like that which makes me think of AASHTO threads as a lower priority, but that's just me.
since we are not adding anything else to usaif
I'm not sure that that's the consensus, though.
IIRC, usaif is just a lack of consensus.
My opinion = that if the system's still around, it should still be maintained, with appropriate routes included.
I'll probably add it to usaif, though there's no big fire lit under my arse to do so.

I started a new thread for the rest of I-840:
