Mike:
I did post this change here as well and I guess you forgot about it:

US 301-the VA 35 points should be N and S instead of W and E
(I did just check on GSV to verify that VA 35 is posted north-south, I lived in the county for most of my life until a few months ago so I know this area quite a bit.)
EDIT: I just saw the same thing on NC 55 on the US 421 duplex in Dunn while doing work on my .list file. Am I thinking something wrong or is it based on route orientation at that location?

Your thinking is right. It's not based on route orientation, but rather: "The direction letter should match the signed direction the concurrent route is splitting toward."

Ok that is what I thought. NC 55 itself is a rather odd route in that it is almost exclusively north-south in its orientation from its western terminus at US 501 Business in Durham to the west end of the US 421 concurrency in Erwin despite being entirely posted east-west so Mike may feel different about this particular situation.

I have fixed the US 301/VA 35 points as well as the NC 55 labels for US 421 and NC 42...
