FL: FL 52 new alignment
« on: February 19, 2023, 10:29:47 am »
New four lane alignment opened for Florida State Road 52 from a point near Emmaus Cemetery Road (just east of I-75) to US 301. The old winding alignment will be Pasco CR 52.

Google Maps imagery shows where there new points will be located.

Thanks for the heads up on this.

Will require the movement of the 'FL52' label in both US-98 & US-301's files, however, it's currently not in-use in either of them thankfully.  Thus, could get away with no news entry for the label movement there at least.

Ok, going to go with an intentional breaking of people's FL-52 entry, by swapping the label around for the end @ US-98/301.

US98/301 -> US301/98

Mainly, because FDOT considers US-301 as the primary here for address reasons.  Because of that, allows me some justification for the swapping of the label around.

Sure, breaks 10 people's clinches, but it needs to be broken due to the reroute, so it works here for once.

Anyways, now submitted.

It looks like these users with the US98/301 label in their files have complete clinches, and will want to submit updates to retain a partial clinch up to the east end of the rerouting:

This user will lose this segment completely, as it was only on a part that's no longer FL 52.

Code: [Select]

I suppose the point where it splits off from the old alignment will be CR52 or will it be *OldFL52?

I don't think I'll get around a re-clinch of SR 52 anytime soon.

If I remember correctly, there was at least another of the points on the old alignment that was in use too.  Was 'PomSt'.

And Jim, I think you meant the 'Western' end of the rerouting.  ;)

Or maybe eastern end of the remaining route.  Either way, what I said was not what I meant.
