NY 79: new Chenango River bridge

Fall: NY79 over Chenango River, Broome County

The bridge and new alignment of NY79 is now open, as of earlier today. (I think it actually opened September 5, but I decided to find out myself for sure.) Below are a few photos that I took.

The signage at the old intersection directing NY79 drivers to stay on the extended concurrency with NY12:

NY12:
Waypoint NY79_E moved about 0.9 mi northeast from the OldNY79 waypoint to a new Chenango River bridge approach.

NY79:
Removed from "Old Route 79", a truss bridge over the Chenango River, and Pigeon Hill Road, and relocated onto NY 12 and a new Chenango River bridge about 0.6 mi northeast of the existing one, between waypoint OldNY79 and Pigeon Hill Road.

WRT the OldNY79 waypoint, at first it seemed like renaming it an extension of River Lane would make sense, but that would mean renumbering the houses on existing River Lane. So I'm going with "Old Route 79" as shown on OSM & Google. If in the future we find there's a more appropriate name to use, we can resurrect this topic.

I am seeing OldNY79 instead of PigHillRd based on my photo from yesterday.  (https://www.facebook.com/photo/?fbid=10219615683223154&set=a.10219615811826369)  Maybe go OldNY79_W and OldNY79_E.
