SD: I-29 Exit 74

(1/1)

the_spui_ninja:
There'll be a new exit on I-29 next year, Exit 74 at 85th St in Sioux Falls (halfway between Exit 73 (Tea) and Exit 75 (I-229).

Study: https://dot.sd.gov/media/documents/IJRI-29-85thStreetExit74100118-WEB.pdf

They'll be adding an "Exit 0" to the I-229 SB ramp to connect to this interchange, but that shouldn't warrant a point. See https://forum.travelmapping.net/index.php?topic=4316.msg23720#msg23720 for a similar example in Colorado.

Looks like this was delayed, as no evidence of even work starting has happened as of Aug '24 GSV.

However, they have started extending 85th towards I-29 per Sept '24 GSV.

Yup, it's been delayed to next year (at least). They're finishing up the 85th/Tallgrass Project (as shown, not sure how the Google car got in there) and I think there's some corresponding work on the Tea side as well.

Turn the GSV imagery around, and you can see that 85th is open there for left turns only (and Tallgrass for rights). ;)

Unless you're talking about the little bit of May '24 imagery.  Looks like there to me the left it partially open for 'local' traffic, and GSV decided to just imagery it anyways, but not release it all, lol.

I'm much more rule-abiding than that haha, I've just avoided the whole area since they started the project.
