KY: various additions and alterations
« on: January 04, 2024, 07:37:04 pm »
Got a short laundry list of things to look at in Kentucky:

* The KY55 bypass around the southern part of Campbellsville is open. Routing can be found on both Google Maps and OSM. The entire bypass is signed as KY55. There are a few leftover signs in town, but no business route was created from the old route. Two other changes stem from this: KY210 has been extended south to end at where KY55 turns onto the bypass. Also, KY1799 now is shortly cosigned with KY55. The KY1799_W point is at approx. 37.358967, -85.294612, the KY1799_E is at approx. 37.355784, -85.294980.

* Also of mention in Campbellsville, there is a point on KY323 for KY55 (now KY210), but there is no access there. Maybe consider a point at Federal Place nearby?

* Also, KY3261 is not at grade with KY80 either, however, there is an access road on both sides of KY80 to get to it. Not sure if this needs adjusting.

* KY1001 has been truncated, according to Pulaski county route logs, and the 'End State Maintenance' sign has been moved accordingly. The route logs say it is now 0.232 miles (or 1225 ft) long.

* KY2775 near Bloomfield is now signed. Weirdly, even though it technically doesn't touch KY2738, it is signed both from KY2738, and from the other end.

* Lastly, I recommend adding a point on KY704 for Melson Ridge Rd. It provides access to KY3265, and also...I would use it at the moment.

Hope this all helps.

Thanks for the list. https://github.com/TravelMapping/HighwayData/pull/7163

Unfortunately some .lists had to be broken with the KY 55 rerouting. Fortunately, at least one of them was using the erroneous KY55 point on KY 323, so that won't be a problem anymore. If whoever was using it actually did turn around in the middle of the bridge and wants a point added for an actual intersection nearby, let me know.

As you surmised, the point for KY 80/Hal Rogers Pkwy on KY 3261 is there to provide a graph connection since there is a connection via access roads which function as ramps.

Unfortunately GMSV and KYTC imagery haven't caught the new signs for KY 2775 yet. I can fudge the west end to KY 2738 if it's signed as beginning there (the road is outlined in white lines, which usually indicates a state highway), but where is the other end? At the end of the bridge, or a bit east of there? Looks like the white lines die out around here (or at least they did last summer).

Regarding KY2775, Nelson County logs state that it goes "from a point 700 feet southeast of the centerline of the Martha Layne Collins Bluegrass Parkway to a point 725 feet northwest of the centerline of the Martha Layne Collins Bluegrass Parkway, a distance of 0.269 mile.", for specifics. For a more practical endpoint, yes, the new End State Maintenance and opposite-side KY2775 signs were right about where the white striping ends.

Thanks! That's what I meant, the location of the new ESM sign. https://github.com/TravelMapping/HighwayData/pull/7172

It looks like the US68_W point from KY 55 needs to be added to US 68 itself.
