RIDOT now says they plan to change their I-95 exits by the end of 2020

No news as when the project is to begin other than the 'late 2020' text on RIDOT's Exit renumbering site which has not been updated since January.

FYI.

later this month
...
The state will begin renumbering the exits along I-95 from the Connecticut border in Hopkinton to the Massachusetts border in Pawtucket on July 31.

The website has been updated to reflect the "new" exit numbers on Interstate 95. It's about time!

There's a project underway to change the Newport Pell Bridge approaches on the eastern side, which looks like it will include a reroute of RI 138 and affect RI 138A and RI 238 once completed.  Full completion is scheduled for the end of 2024, but it appears the new RI 138 EB alignment is open.

There is now street view coverage here.  On thing that's weird is that the RI 138 and TO RI 114 signs point to the left instead of to the right as one would expect.  Is this in error, or did RIDOT reroute RI 138 (more than we were expecting)?

We do have a RI 138A shield south of the roundabout, at least.
