Failed site update 9/28

Jim:
The site update process took out the DB process for some reason.  I restarted it (restoring the forum) and have relaunched the site update.  I will be back to check on it in an hour or so.

Jim:
I don't know if it's something with the latest data or something with the server, but I'm having trouble getting the DB update part of the site update process to complete.  I'm retrying.  Hoping I can track down at least some kind of error message to go on but so far it looks like the process is just hanging when mysql is processing the .sql file that repopulates the DB.

Jim:
Got the DB update to go through.  I will try to be careful to monitor tonight's update's progress so I don't leave the system in a bad state overnight.

Jim:
Tonight's update also caused mysqld to hang.  Not sure what's going on.  I'll do my best to keep an eye on it.
