IN: US-20 exit number issues
« on: December 14, 2020, 10:13:13 am »
With the US-31 multiplex, there doesn't seem to be any numbers posted along it baring any mileage for either route.  Same goes for the numbers along the solo US-20 part.  So, they all need to revert to named labels.

71 -> US31_N (StreetView)
260(31) -> IN2 (StreetView)
259(31) -> MayRd (StreetView)
257(31) -> IN23 (StreetView)
79 -> US31_S (StreetView)
82 -> IroDr (StreetView)
84 -> IN331_S (StreetView)
86 -> IN331_N (StreetView)
92 -> IN19 (StreetView)
96 -> US33 (StreetView)
99A -> US20BusSou_E (StreetView) NOTE: There is a NMP issue here with US20BusSou that needs to be fixed as well.
99B -> CR17 (StreetView)

On a side note, are we sure that US20BusSou still exists or might be routed wrong in the HB?  Might be worth double checking on this route's status when dealing with fixing the NMP since signage on US-20 at the 'eastern' end doesn't mention it.

Re US 20 Bus: I'm planning on checking out some other things in South Bend on my next trip to Illinois, but my recollection from my attempt to clinch the business route a few years ago is that it is signed about as haphazardly as any other business route in the state. As long as signs are up, I'll try to keep a route in the HB, but since these typically aren't INDOT maintained, it's not easy to find any official routing info.

BusUS routes don't officially exist in Indiana, so there is no official routing by which you could determine whether it has been changed or still exists. When the US 20 bypass got built, "Business" signs got slapped onto the existing US 20 signs on the old route, and what is currently in TM accurately reflects that route.

It does appear the east endpoint is off by a tiny amount, and the conversion of St. Joseph and Main Streets in downtown SB have changed the routing of the routes through downtown, but signage never got changed.
