Title: SC: SC 130 (and SC 183)
Post by: ntallyn on March 30, 2020, 12:07:07 am
Shockingly, SC 130 is marked as E-W. Though I suspect the northern end is actually west of the southern end, the "West" end of the route is downtown Seneca, thus making the routing in the HB backwards.

This also means that the points on SC 183 for SC 130 need the _E and _W tags swapped.

See the linked post below.  When I did the SC State Highways Peer Review for mapmikey, we determined that the reasoning for this craziness is that SCDOT decided to make all even-numbered routes E-W and all odd-numbered routes N-S regardless of orientation for some reason.

I understand the E/W part (at least TM's reasoning). However, it's posted west to east as you head north. The HB shows it heading south.

Even weirder regarding SC 130 -  GMSV from the 2012 time frame shows the banners the opposite of what the current GMSV shows.

For decades most SC state routes had no directional banners.  Then they decided to use the national route convention for even and odd numbers despite the fact that SC's numbering system itself is nowhere close to being aligned that way.

Changes made and in the queue...
