I'll be traveling for the next week, so I might not be able to run daily site updates. I'll run them when time and network connectivity permit, but don't be alarmed if we go 3 or 4 days in between. I should be able to acknowledge emailed list file updates daily, at least.
-
Connectivity was better than expected, but I still had a couple days without being able to launch an update. One is running now with all of the highway data and list update files received over the last few days. Should be back on a schedule of an update at least once a day now.
-
I expect to be traveling much of the next two weeks. I will process list file submissions and run site updates when I can but don't be surprised if it's a few days or even a week between updates, especially the first week of the new year.
-
Some pretty impressive technology let me run last night's site update while traveling at 70 MPH in my car's passenger seat on I-95 in Virginia. An ssh connection to my FreeBSD server at home was all that needed the mobile data connection. The big file transfer parts were only done using my home network connection. I know we all pretty much expect to be able to do anything from anywhere but I still find it amazing that I could do what I did and without spending any money beyond a standard data plan, of which I needed to use very little.
-
That's believable. I downloaded data, created a GIS map, and uploaded it/posted about it all while on I-91 Christmas night...
-
I've been able to run site updates more regularly than expected on the first part of my trip. The last update of 2016 is underway now. I should be able to get one launched tomorrow morning or early afternoon if there are any highway data or list file updates between now and then. Hard to say after that.
2016 has been quite a year for the project, and I'm looking forward to what we can accomplish for 2017!
-
Busy couple days here, but I hope to launch a site update tonight. If not, I'll get one done tomorrow.

Site update in progress now, and I hope to be back on a daily update schedule for the forseeable future.
-
I'm traveling for a week starting tomorrow (Tuesday). Frequency of site updates after tonight's (which just crashed with a data error...hope to get it through) will depend on the availability of reliable network and time to run them. I doubt I'll be able to run them daily, but hopefully I'll get at least one or two in while I'm away.
-
A site update is running now from an airplane because technology lets me do so. We'll see if it completes successfully. Landing soon, so I can't babysit it.

Didn't work, but my fault, not the technology. Trying again now, from a normal hotel network connection.
-
Currently in progress site update launched from altitude 38,000 feet over Montana. Again, because I can.

Again, because I can.
Yes, you made no fault this time ;)
However, thanks for doing it :)
-
Tonight's just-completed site update might be the last before Sunday night. Off to Lake Placid for some hockey playoffs and a ski day at Whiteface. If any changes come in before noon Friday, there's a chance I'll be able to run one more before I leave.

Back in business tonight. A site update just completed with far more highway data and list file updates than usual in a single update. Great job everyone: there was only one very minor typo I had to fix. I hope to be back on a daily update schedule for the foreseeable future.
-
I'll be traveling for a little over 2 weeks starting today. For most of the trip, this won't stop me from running a site update each day but don't be surprised if I miss a day or two.
While it should be a nice trip (visiting lots of people), opportunities to add TM mileage will be limited on this one. But I'm sure I'll sneak a bit in here and there.
-
Car trouble (now resolved) delayed our arrival at our first multi-night destination of Jupiter, Florida, so there will be no site update today, Monday 6/26.
-
Site update is running for tonight now, but since there were only a few small changes to highway data, I'm not regenerating graphs.
-
No site update today. Should be able to run one on Sunday and be back on a regular update schedule.
-
I'm leaving Monday morning for a 10 day trip centered around what I hope will be a good eclipse viewing spot in Nebraska. I'll run site updates when I can, but they might not happen every day.

I'm off to Nebraska for the eclipse as well, but not until Friday. I don't know how much new mileage I'll pick up, but I will be visiting some counties I've need seen before. Got my maps of roads I've never driven ready to go as I inch closer to 100,000 miles in active systems. :) Might make it this year, though not this trip.
-
No update tonight. No highway data updates and only a couple list files, plus the hotel network here in Marshall, Missouri, probably isn't up to it. And it's late. I'll have one from Papillion, Nebraska, tomorrow.
-
I'll be traveling for the next several days. I'll run site updates when I can, but I will probably miss a day or two.
-
I'll be at traveling to and from and will attending a conference the rest of this week, so I am unsure how consistently I'll be able to run site updates through Saturday.
For those interested in the educational aspect of TM, my talk "Map-based Algorithm Visualization with METAL Highway Data" will be Friday afternoon. https://sigcse2018.sigcse.org/agenda.html has the full schedule. My talk slides are at http://courses.teresco.org/metal/sigcse2018/talk.pdf
-
Next site update likely will not occur until Sunday evening, 3/18.
-
I'm going to be on the road and at a conference the next few days. I'll run site updates if I can, but the next one (after tonight's completes) might not happen until Saturday evening.
-
I'll be traveling for the next week. I expect to be able to run a site update most if not all days, but no guarantees.
-
Traveling again starting tomorrow, and gone for a little more than a week. I should still be able to run an update almost every night, but don't be shocked if I miss one or two, or they happen at unusual times.
-
Lots of highway data and user list updates came in since last night's site update, so I'm running an extra one now as I'm riding down through east central North Carolina on I-95 (Pedro's billboards say hello), as a passenger at the moment, of course.
-
I've done that before...last Christmas, I did a freezing rain forecast map in the back seat of my in-law's car on the way back home.
-
Heading out to New Mexico to present the latest paper about METAL, TM's academic side project. I expect to run site updates regularly anyway from hotels each evening, but don't be shocked if I miss a day or two between now and Tuesday.
-
Lots of travel, watching hockey, and probably doing a little skiing the next few days, so there's a chance I won't be able to run site updates until I return home Sunday evening (after tonight's).
-
I'll be traveling for the next week, so a site update or two might be missed. Though I do intend to launch tonight's from somewhere on I-95 (when it's not my turn to drive, of course).
-
Not quite I-95: tonight's update is running from I-295 around Richmond. It should be all completed before we hit I-95 again south of Petersburg.
-
That initially confused me (https://www.google.com/maps/@44.1654154,-69.835369,3a,25.3y,188.15h,88.15t/data=!3m9!1e1!3m7!1s-b2LsVzhjkfteD4fk87QHA!2e0!7i13312!8i6656!9m2!1b1!2i41).
-
That could be a little confusing. Site update with the roudn fix in is running now, from US 301 between Callahan and Baldwin. Covered a lot of ground during the night.
-
This one's a minor interruption in site updates. I'm going to run one soon with changes that have come in since last night, but there will not be the usual evening site update tonight as I will be traveling to and from and attending a baseball game.
-
My home internet is down and tethering to the phone is not good enough to run one tonight. I'll run an update when Spectrum gets us back online or when I'm at the office in the morning.
-
I'm traveling for 2 weeks starting tomorrow, 7/20. I expect to be online every evening and should be able to run a site update just about every day, but don't be alarmed if I miss a couple.
-
Sorry, no site update tonight. It looks like there's some intermittent network issue that makes updating from github fail at times, and there's a problem with one of the pull requests I merged in. Hope to run one tomorrow.
-
I'm off to the State of the Map US conference after work tomorrow, and will be in Minneapolis through Sunday evening. I should be able to run a site update each day, but it's possible I'll miss a day or two.
Thanks to all who make TM what it is which makes this conference presentation possible. Hopefully I can spark some interest among the attendees.
-
Safe travels! I look forward to hearing how the conference goes.
-
On my way to the Pittsburgh area today (adding some routes for TM on the way) to give a talk about how I used the traveled-format graphs in Algorithms at the end of last semester. The talk is at Robert Morris University on Saturday morning. I should be able to run a site update each day, but can't promise I won't miss a day.
-
Nice. If a video or PDF is made available, I'd love to see it.

Video seems unlikely, but I'm happy to share my slides (once I finish them up). Lots of overlap with what you'd have seen if you watch the SotMUS video. Just a different focus at the end.
-
I'm off to Portland, Oregon, early Monday morning to attend a conference this week. I expect to run site updates most nights, but it's possible I could miss one or two. The conference is in the same series where TM's educational offshoot, METAL, has been presented previously, but at this one my only formal role is to participate in a session about Computer Science curricular issues at smaller colleges.
-
Headed to Texas for a few days to go to a Rangers game to re-clinch all of the MLB stadiums and hopefully add a bunch of new mileage down that way. I should be able to run a site update each evening, but I could miss one or two nights.

I hope you have a fun trip. I had considered clinching all of the MLB stadiums earlier in life, but I am unsure if I can handle crowds these days.

Some of you might have seen over on AARoads (https://www.aaroads.com/forum/index.php?topic=29121.0) that I've got a trip to Iceland planned, and it looks like it's a go, starting tomorrow. I expect to run a site update most days but the schedule will be off. Being on GMT, I expect most will run 3-4 hours earlier than what's typical, so 5-8 PM EDT. Having never been there before, and with a loop around the Ring Road as part of the plan, I'll be covering a lot of new ground, so will have a strong motivation to get my own list file updated and see the results in a site update each evening. If all goes according to plan, I'll be back home late on the 26th.
-
Headed toward home nn the Mass Pike now (as a passenger at the moment) after returning from Iceland, with tonight's site update currently in progress. We should be back on a regular update schedule.
-
I don't expect significant changes in the usual update schedule, but I am traveling for the next week and a couple days. Just FYI, tonight's update is running, launched in Maryland just before crossing the US 301 Nice Bridge into Virginia.
-
I was out at a baseball game until late, and the site update I launched in the early morning hours failed with a data error. I'll run an update in the morning once the error is taken care of.
-
Lots of travel for me over the next few weeks. Most days, I should be able to run a site update every evening. However, there are likely going to be some days, possibly a few in a row, where I will not be able to do so.

Going into Yellowstone tomorrow morning, leaving on Tuesday. I'll run updates if I can, but it's possible no updates will occur until Tuesday evening.
-
Not quite getting enough network connectivity to run a site update yet from Yellowstone. I'll attempt again if time and a network signal align.
-
Cell service comes through at Canyon Village, site update in progress. Not sure if I'll be able to do one for Monday or not.
-
Yellowstone connectivity is a challenge. Canyon Village is one of the better areas - good luck elsewhere (where it's open given the floods.)
-
Great network at the Old Faithful Snow Lodge, so site update upcoming over lunch.
-
In Denver today, site update launching now. Still likely to be some disruptions in the usual schedule for a few more days.
-
Sorry about the skipped site update on Monday 9/19. It was a busy day and evening and I simply forgot to start it! Tonight's is running now.
-
I'll have a busy and unusual schedule through Sunday night. I hope to run site updates on a close to normal schedule but that might not work out.
-
I will be unable to run a site update this evening. I expect to be back on a normal schedule tomorrow.
-
I'll be traveling to and in the Mountain Time Zone for a few days starting tomorrow. I should be able to run a site update each night, but they might be later than usual.
-
I'll be traveling all week, 3/13 to 3/18. While I expect to be able to run a site update each evening, I might miss a day or two and the timing might be different than usual.
-
I'll be traveling internationally for the next week and a half, so site update times are likely to be out of the ordinary. I'll run them as time and network connectivity permits, and expect to run one on most days. Updates most days will be a few hours earlier than my typical schedule.
-
I will be away from my computer and probably will be unable to run a site update on Thursday, July 27. Should be back to normal on Friday.
-
More travel for the next week and a half, but this is all by car, all in the Eastern time zone, and I don't expect it will result in major disruptions to the site update schedule.
-

I was not able to run one last night. I will try to run one in the next hour or so, then a usual evening update later.

Thanks Jim. I did have a little "did I not pull?" moment, but then I saw that you hadn't updated.
-
It looks like GitHub is having some problems this evening (8/28). I will run a site update in the morning instead, assuming I can interact normally with GitHub then.
-
I was away from the computer last night, running a site update now. I expect to run another tonight if highway data or user list file updates or come in.
-
I am traveling through late Sunday night/early Monday morning. I should be able to run site updates more or less on the usual schedule but no promises. (In mostly familiar territory and on a tight schedule, though, so clinching opportunites will be very limited.)
-
Apologies for the lack of a Wednesday evening site update. Crazy week of long hours and I just forgot to run it before calling it a night. Tonight's update is running now.
-
Forgot again last night after finishing up some late grading. Tonight's is running now.
-
I launched the rail update last night then forgot to launch the highways update. I just ran this morning instead.
-
Crazy week here, so I never finished the site update launch last night that I thought I ran. It's running now.
-
I'll be traveling and at a conference from Sunday 6/16 through Wednesday 6/19. I plan to run site updates each evening but don't be surprised or alarmed if they're on an unusual schedule or if I miss a day.
-
The main highways site hasn't been updated since Sunday (the rail site was updated Monday) - just hoping everything is OK.
-
Running now. Not sure what happened Monday, might have run 2 rail updates or something. Tuesday I was tied up with some other things and just forgot!
-
I will be away from my computer during the usual site update timeframe tonight. If I have a chance before I leave and there are enough highway and/or user data changes I would try to run one around midday EDT. Then I expect to run one at some point earlier than usual on Saturday.
-
I'm traveling this afternoon through Monday, so site update frequency and timings might vary. I'll be picking up some new TM miles, so I'll have motivation to make sure I run updates after I add travels to my own list files.
-
I'm off to a conference the rest of the week. This could disrupt the site update schedule some. I'll aim to do one each evening but it might not happen.
