Title: IL: weirdnesses regarding I-290 endpoints
Post by: dave1693 on March 30, 2018, 11:32:39 pm
Going over my travels in Illinois, I discovered that the eastern terminus of I-290 (exit 30) is not quite the same point as the corresponding interchange on I-90/94, and thus I-90 nd I-94 are not listed as Intersecting/Concurrent routes for that waypoint. This also applies to IL 110, which runs concurrent with I-290 for a few exits at their east ends.

As for the western terminus, that is marked as "I-90", and yet the only intersecting route noted is IL 53. Going to IL 53's file, the same waypoint is marked only "I-90", but the only intersecting route is I-290. I'm guessing that we've got a mismatch between locations on I-90 and those on I-290/IL53/IL110.

The point I-290/IL 110 share at the Circle Interchange is ever so slightly different from the Exit 51H that I-90/94 share.

As for the north/west endpoint, I don't understand the confusion. I-290 and IL 53 have a common endpoint where they meet I-90, which is the east-west road. Is the complaint that the I-290 point is labeled "I-90" and not "I-90/53" and 53's endpoint is "I-90" instead of "I-90/290"?

This is at http://www.openstreetmap.org/?lat=42.057578&lon=-88.028383 .
IL I-90 68 has its coords at http://www.openstreetmap.org/?lat=42.057514&lon=-88.028340 .

Recommend just recentering IL I-90 68, as the other two routes' shared point is a bit closer to the center of the interchange.

Ugh. Seriously, why does this keep happening? I don't know whether that's a point drift or thing that's been there all along, but I'll change the points on I-90/94 to match what was with 290.

No changes in that area in a long time, so it's just been there unnoticed, I assume:
