Title: NC Future Interstates marked as Interstates by FHWA
Post by: si404 on June 22, 2016, 09:38:53 am
The FHWA list (http://www.fhwa.dot.gov/planning/national_highway_system/interstate_highway_system/routefinder/table02.cfm) has the following entries as full Interstates

I-785   North Carolina   2.21   0   -   -   -   2.21 Mi on I-840
I-840   North Carolina   5.77   2.21   -   -   -   3.56 Mi on I-73, 2.21 Mi on I-785

The I-73 mileage isn't on the main routes table, AFAICS, but both Fut I-840 segments are unsigned I-840, the west one also unsigned I-73 (but I'm not sure the other bit of what we have as Fut I-73 is) and the east one also unsigned I-785.

Well, the western part of I-840 has "future" signage, so I say we stick with that for now.  Supposedly when I-73 construction is finished nearby and it's posted, the signage will be updated.

I think I-73 is completed now. What's the status?

This issue is two years old and should be closed. I-840 (west) and I-785 are both in the HB as full interstates.
I-840 (east) is in the HB as Future.
